Just revived 6 of 11 attys

Okay, I had a bag of 11 attys all of which still technically "worked", but got way too hot too quickly and produced little to no vapor. On the advice of RIMP, I gave them an efferdent bath (he recommended polident, but oh well) Anyway, I had already tried several hot diet coke baths and boiling with no results. 6 of the 11 attys now work again, 2 of them at about 90% and the rest around 60-70 (or at least that's my estimation). I used 2 efferdent tabs in about a cup of hot water, hope this is helpful to someone.

Did you, by chance, take resistance readings on these atomizers before and after the treatment? Any guess on how long each of the atomizers had been used before you put them in the bag? What type of device were these atomizers used on?

This is interesting. Follow up on this thread when the 'revived' atomizers begin dying. I am curious how much longer you can use them and still get a satisfying vape.

Might want to try a second pass on them with the Crest Pro Mouthwash (blue).

15 minute soak, hot water rinse, overnight dry.

They are all 510 attys.
I don't have exact readings and am not tech savvy, but when I checked them with a multimeter they all read between 2.8 and 4.0 ohms, which is what I read they should be. Most around 3.0.
I haven't checked them again, I just primed and tested them all vaping since they read okay before hand but still didn't work properly. Maybe seven of them I bought used, they had already been used about two months alternating them before I got them and I got another 3-4 weeks out of them. The rest I'm not sure, at least 2 months is my guess. They all have been sitting in my junk drawer till RIMP made the suggestion.

This is interesting. I just wanted to add that i just revived 7 old 510 atomizers that were in the same condition described. I boiled them in filtered water for 2 min, blew them out and primed them. In the past i took the attitude that cleaning did more harm then good. Lets face it, there are so many methods for cleaning atomizers discussed on the forums. Some seem ridiculous while others ive tried have had either no results or opposite results. Boiling in water is a chemical free method that, in my opinion, can not harm the design of the atomizer. Polident wash does make sense to me. If boiling didnt work for me i would probably use that method.

P.S I wonder if its the method after the cleaning that makes a difference in the results. After I boil them i let them air dry over night then i drip 2 drops on the atomizer and let it sit for at least an hour. This has never failed me. Ive been vaping for 5 months thought i was blowing through atomizer and now have a large surplus haha.
