Bug, I don't know how hot atomisers are supposed to get. I have one that works fine but gets very warm, it just seems to work best like that. Some others I've used hardly get hot at all so I think it might be one of the quirks of different brands. I can't recall a thread about how hot an atomiser should get.
I use the same ones from NJOY. I had a couple that get real hot and others just warm. When they start to get hot, I think it's because I vaped too much on it for a while. I just give them a rest.

Also, I find when I first vape on them, they produce a lot of vapor and start it starts to fizzle out. I set it aside to squeeze later and put a fresh filled one in. If the battery is still decently charged, I get good draw and vapor. Vice vera on the battery.

This process works so well for me I just had to share. I can recycle my cartridges and they work like new I've done it 3 times already with all my cartridges.

    Step 1:
Take the cartridges you got pre-filled or ones you filled yourself.

    Step 2:
Using normal tweezers gently pull the white filling from your cartridge. Notice they are brown from the residue e-liquid

    Step 3:
Drop them in a sink or bowl filled with just tap water at room temperature.
It should take only 1-2 minutes for the brown fillings to turn white by themselves.

    Step 4:
Gently take the fillings from the sink and place in paper towel. you can let them dry on their own(Not in direct hot sunlight). You can speed up this process by VERY gently pressing the fillings against the paper towel then let them dry thoroughly.

    Step 5:
Use a Q-tip to clean the shell of the cartridge. Careful not to push too hard or you can move the plastic plate at the end of the mouthpiece.

    Step 6:
Using the tweezers now with the dry clean filling insert it back in the shell.

    Step 7:
Done! you have an almost brand new cartridge ready to be filled with any flavor.

    IMPORTANT!:
If after you refill and start vaping you feel the e-liquid is seeping through the back plastic plate in your mouth STOP USING IT. Myself and a friend learned the hard way that if you taste the liquid and keep tasting it you can get a horrible queasy nauseated feeling. It goes away after an hour or two but it terrible while it lasts.
Thanks Liam! this is how I do it. If I suck any nicotine, it's because,(I feel), the filler didn't get all the way down to the end. I put these with the others too re-squeeze later. I have so many carts, I keep the majority aside till the ones I'm using don't work too well.

Some people use fishtank filter for replacing the cartridge filler Bug. I don't usually use cartridges so I don't know what works well.

To ME, it isn't something I'd feel good about, yet. I have batting material someone said they use. I can try that. Or buy a bunch of carts from China as well as atomizers and batteries. As long as it's not juice, it should pass inspection, I would think.

I get free replacements from NJOY but what if they all fizzle out at the same time as they did. I had to smoke cigs. for a couple days and they were disgusting.

Thanks Kate. If the batting doesn't work well, I might try the fish tank filler but I would have no idea how to do either equal to the original filler. Cutting, how much, folding? Yada, yada, yada.

Here's something applefr3ak talked about using fish tank filler that sounds promising. It's back down further on another page. I just went there accidentally.

Here's another video from me explaining the who/why/what/when/where/how of rebuilding your carts.

    YouTube - Rebuilding / Revamping cartridges...The right stuff(ing) lololol...Yeah, I know...that was dumb.

It also seems to hold and use all the e-liquid better with much less waste.

Hey there nitewriter! Pardon if this has been asked before. What is your packing material made of? e.g., is it a fiber type material?

    Who luvs ya baby?

Terra... great video! I just got some poly fill stuff and I was gona do this one too.. but I have not had a moment to spare (my partners bday was this weekend). My only critique is you should try to move slower and hold the small items closer to the cam (also.. u have big hands.. try using a tweezer to hold small stuff so it is better visible). If you don't mind.. I may also do this on my "video for newbies" also.

I've only tried cleaning/refilling a couple of carts so far. I have found using a straight pin or a safety pin will allow me to "tuck" the corners into the cart a little more easily than tweezers (they tend to kind of unfold while i'm trying to insert them) Then, once all 4 corners are tucked in, the filling seems to slide in quite easily.
