My only critique is you should try to move slower and hold the small items closer to the cam (also.. u have big hands.. try using a tweezer to hold small stuff so it is better visible). If you don't mind.. I may also do this on my "video for newbies" also.
In the future, if I do another video that covers something with a delicate manual process, I'll see about moving the camera closer. one problem is that the cam is 5 feet away from me and still gets that big of a picture.

I'll see what I can do for future vids, though.

This is correct. I use a safety pin and a paper clip because they allow me more delicate control and are more maneuverable...Makes things a lot easier.

Thanks, Sun. I'm just glad to be able to contribute to the community. Without knowledge, people are going to get frustrated with the technology and that will end up killing the movement. Fortunately, I'm a classic early adopter (having been an engineer for a dozen years helps) and can pretty much patience my way through most issues until I come up with a solution.

One of my limiting factors, right now, is that I only have an evo. Once I get a 901 or something more wide-spread, I can start figuring out the little glitches with those, too, and I can make videos describing processes that other people have laid out, too.

Like I said; Glad I can help.

Thanks for the Fluval advice. My husband works in a pet store so I'll be sure to pick some up today. Meanwhile, what I have been doing to restuff is using just simple polyester cotton 'batting' which is what you use for the interior of quilts. You can peel it quite thin and roll it up. Only issue is that it can get rather hairy, so you have to trim it a lot. The Fluval would seem to address the hairy issue quite nicely

Also - I wash out my carts, atomizers and such pretty regularly. For lack of other ingredients, I just use a drop of Dawn dish soap in a small container with hot soapy water, agitate, agitate, dump out - fill with clean water, agitate, agitate - empty out - then fill with clean water again.

That seems to work. No aftertaste from soap, no film on carts. I have to wash rather carefully as I don't want to be smoking Dish soap Rinsing twice seems to do it. Rinsing once doesn't.

I've been using the batting. Found out not to use too much or hard draw. I just wash the batting in plain water but I clean the carts 1part clorox to 10parts water and rinse well.

Will ck. out Fluval. Maybe washing is nessecary but I will try water first. Much easier and I find no need for detergent. They rinse clear of nicotine.

Happy stuffing everyone. Speaking of stuffing, I wonder if I stuffed my turkey with it, might absorb all the juice. Then squeeze it out and make the gravy.

    Default Cartridge filling

I just bought some replacement material from Pets at Home in the UK.

It's Fluval 3 Plus Polyester Filter Pads. For £6.00 ish you get four thick pads which can be each separated (pulled apart) into five thinner slices. I would guess each "slice" would make about 60 fillers, so a box would fill approx 1200 cartridges.

I looks, feels and vapes exactly the same as the original 901 carts. I was washing my fillers out but I will now just chuck them away and re-fill them with this stuff.

Guys, I dont know if its mentioned to the forum but I use extra slim swan filters witch I bought from www.eshoppersonline.com. The packet has 2400 filters and the price If I remember well is 6 euro. That means that for the next 3-4 years I am ok. The filters works fine. I have no problem and they are filters for analog cigarettes so I think that the are ok for our purposes. They have to keep thinks that we mustn't inhale, like the analogs smoke

sorry its about 9 euros + 4,5 euros for posts and packing. I think that the cost is nothing compares the time you will smoke

Are any of you worried about chemicals in the filling that may be vaporizing along with the e liquid? Are our cart manufacturers using a specific type of filling that does not contain other harmful chemicals?

In terms of inhaling gaseous byproducts from vapourizing, I'd probably be more concerned about any plastic products in contact with warm air flow. I am uncertain of where these things are manufactured, however, China hasn't had the finest Q.C. track record for a few years (I hope there's no lead in there!). It terms of wadding, likely a modern, inert fire-retardant material would be the safest bet.

What we're looking for is mainly a balance of three properties of an ideal material.
    1) Robust structure - mainly, you dont want fibrous or particulate matter to be pulled in by the liquid through the atomizer thus ending up in your breathers.
    2) Leaching - You essentially want to make sure molecular bonds are strong enough to not break apart and dissolve into the liquid (even at high tempuratures). And;
    3) Absorbtion. We all know the crappy paper towls at the office poopen-häus can't absorb jack-****. Wet hands suck, and so does leaky Nicquid (TM).

I'm still awaiting for my first e-cig, and although the videos you all have posted have been very informative...unfortunately compression rates make it very difficult for me to see in detail what exactly is going on. I have to infern was going on based on your fine descriptions.

It seems I recall someone else trying cig filters, and it didn't work. The ecig cartridge filler is "porous" (for lack of a better term). I see cig filters as good for collecting tar, etc, but does the juice really leach down well to the atomizer with them?

Just like someone said they use the sham wow towels. I find it hard to believe these work well. I saw the commercial where they show how they hold a ton of liquid without dripping. So how much liquid would you have to use to actually get it to keep the atomizer moist?

At least porous allows the juice to "seep down" a little to the atomizer. Does a cig filter really do that? Or the sham wow?
