something weird just happened
I have been strictly vaping [no analogs] for at least ten days now.....
Everything has been going ok so far [except for trying to rearrange my budget to include new toys for my new habit!]
I just switched to a fresh battery about 10 minutes ago, started puffing, and after about 3 puffs, the battery started flashing like mad.
I think this was the cleaning cycle [does 10 days sound right?], and I quickly disassembled my pen, as I have seen described in several cleaning threads.
But after I took the precaution of changing the cart and blowing out the atomizer, something weird happened......I started getting more of a throat kick and more vapor than I have seen the entire time I've been doing this.
Does it take a little bit of a cleaning cycle to really break in an atomizer???
Also, I haven't been getting much flavor out of these things [555 and Camel from puresmoker].....is it just that there isn't much flavor to be had, or should I just blame it on my analog-abused taste buds?
Anyone's input will be mightily appreciated.

I think the cleaning cycle can be a good thing. If and only if you happen to have enough liquid in there at the time to keep it from frying dry. A manual cycle would be the way to go.

Flavours will improve. I thought most flavours were kinda mild to me too, a little too delicate for my pallete, it's an adjustment thing.
If your looking for a tobacco'y taste that's a little stronger I have tried flued cured and french pipe. They are not as harsh as I was expecting and quite a pleasurable vape. Not my cup of tea for an all day vape. I'm a menthol man.

How do you avoid the cleaning cycle ???

Just pull the cart out to avoid bad aftertaste and let it do the job.

Mine started flashing and I lost count after 35 flashes. I think the cleaning cycle keeps flashing till it's done. 40 flashes?

As Steve told me, blowing out the atomizer will remove the primer and thus work better. Also, what do you have? I have a 901 and my cleaning cycle is a solid light not a flashing one and you also hear a hissing sound form the atomizer heating up and burning off build-up. Your flashing could have been from taking too long of a hit?

A weird thing happened to me too. I saw my battery start going through the clean mode so as some suggested, I quickly removed the atomizer and cartridge. The battery stopped blinking but as soon as I put the atomizer back on, it started again, like it was possessed!. After the 3rd time, I left the atomizer on minus the cart. I let it do its thing and thought for sure the atomizer was killed. But it wasn't....and worked fine after. Weird! So now I just take off the cart (as Frankie said) and let it go. It hasn't been a problem for me yet.

Hi Jake
Different devices make flavours different too. I've found some devices can overcook the eliquid and some carry flavour. That can be down to pot luck or the particular model you are using.

I'm using Cash's penstyle...is it a juice-cooker?
I'm pretty sure if I ever get a secondary device, it would be the 901. And from what I read on this forum, that would become my primary device!
Also, something that would be nice......ADAPTERS! If I ever get more devices, it would be nice to have one charger or one USB passthru for all of them. Like either the ecigs or the chargers/usbs/whatnot could come with adapters. Or, a separate new product....the adapter multi-pack!
Just a thought....either way, judging by the ticker thing in my signature, this is the best investment I have made in a while, and I plan on sticking with it. And making a laminated card to have people read when they ask what the ....... it is, my voice is tired from explaining it!!
Thanks to all,
Jake
