Well they sent me "Clear" vanilla with about 1/4" of powdery white sediment in the bottle, Chocolate extract that was SOLID (could not even get it out of the bottle), and the wrong Champagne flavor. I contacted them by phone and email on March 6th, gave them lot numbers and they said their QC department would investigate. Here is the response (note the date and they did not even get my name right.)

    Dear Robert

I have received you email complaint. I have reviewed the QC samples from the respective lot numbers. There is nothing wrong with the flavors. It is not uncommon for flavors to cloud up or even solidify especially when they get cold. Often times when a flavor gets chilled especially in transit some of the solids will settle out and fall to the bottom. You can warm it up in a water bath
or you can still use just try not to shake it up to much and pour from the top.
The chocolate does solidify normally. Unless it is very warm. It is more like a paste than anything. Again this is not abnormal just a result of high solids. Natures flavors tries to sell the highest quality flavors and also the best value. Its easy to load a flavor up with water or other fillers. We figure that costumers would rather use less flavors and add there own fillers and also shipping costs are so high that this is also a concern of ours. You may also find that a number corresponding to a flavor on the website might be different on the product that you received. That is because we may have the same product listed on another topic such as organic verses natural. When we sell and make organics that is the same flavor sold under naturals. We don't make two different flavors but for the customer who is buying the organic than they are entitled to the certificate. Otherwise the flavor is the same.
In the future when it comes to quality issues, how to use a product or suitability it is better if you call or give us a number to call you back at so you can speak to a live person. I did try to call the number that was on the invoice
    but there was no answer.
Well i hope this helps but if you need more information please call me.
    Thanks
    Bill Sabo

Nevermind that I did call and the customer service rep even called me back to tell me she had forwarded my complaints to QC.

Ewww. Even if there is a legitimate reason for the stuff solidifying, it's not something I'd want to put in my atomizer.

No way the solid chocolate was normal, it was a 70 degree day when I got it! I'm sorry, but chocolate paste in a bottle is not extract.

The left is the "Clear" vanilla. The right is I have no idea. But apparently they are normal!?

Did you filter and vape the vanilla?

Hasn't ANYONE tried the liqueur flavoring essences yet?

    Liqueur Flavoring Essences

I am guessing they are so much better tasting and of better quality than the candy flavors. You don't need to wait and can pick up samples to try at your local brew shop. I'll bet they taste just like the real thing and should be compared to this other line of Natures Flavors.

I for one would certainly look forward to any reports and comparisons.

In my opinion, you can decant if there is sediment or you can siphon with a pipette or you can filter so if the product is ok without the sediment this is a step that should be taken to pursue the promise of the product line.

I also feel more weight should be given to my post about vanilla flavor problems and am hopeful someone besides myself will investigate my suggestions regarding this and perhaps offer yet another comparison.

I do not like the idea of candy flavors (Lorann) for this purpose and these options seem to me to be the most likely source of a promising solution to the disappointing results the candy flavors offer. Certain flavors have a unique standing requiring and innovative solution in my opinion such as menthol and vanilla.

    Default Affliate Site

Another site which is just like Natures Flavors except in pricing. Bill Sabo is the CEO of both? There are reviews but only on the food coloring (not good) and the tea (great)
They only have organic which I stated earlier one would want to be sure to sample in small doses for allergy reaction.
Not sure how I feel about solid chocolate flavoring or their response. Are you gentlemen getting the concentrate or the extract?

Thus far I've only noodled with the Lorann stuff (bought at Hobby Lobby).

In addition to the check for ingredients to rule out oils, I've also noticed that some of the Lorann stuff has a "keep out of contact with mucous membranes", and I file "lungs" under mucous membranes, so I'm steering clear of those as well (notably the "minty" flavors like wintergreen and spearmint). As a result (and due to the limited selection locally) the only flavors I've jacked around with thus far are the orange (pretty decent) strawberry (quite nice). I also have a grape variety, but haven't tried that yet as I don't have any unflavored to work with and thus far have just been diluting the orange and strawberry I purchased at startup.

Will keep you posted as I find more out.
