Exactly what is the advantage to doing it this way, dont you get alot of excess in the carto and just have to blow that out? I know i get some excess and blow that out when filling directly into the carto. I fear wasting liquid this way.
Just tried this on a fresh carto and love it! Could think of all sorts of reasons this wouldn't work and it's gonna be my "go to" method from here on out. No special tools needed.
My other fills ended up in mangled caps from prying the mouth pieces off. Or half fills (and a scorched first carto) from trying do drip via the hole in the atty end (only the once though)

Because of the thickness of VG liquid I almost gave up on refilling VGs... this is awesome! Thanks, dogs!!

OK, I looked at the video again, decided to give it a try (against my better judgement). It seems my better judgement was wrong!
This appears to work very well, I watched lots of air bubbles come out of my carto. Perhaps this is why I have been unable to get a carto completely filled? I used this on 6 cartos I thought were full, and was very surprised at the amount of juice they sucked up (at least 10 additional drops). Minimal excess. Very interesting, thank you for the tip.

I just tried it too. I filled a blank and topped another off. I slowly pushed the carto down, saw a little liquid on top, gave it a few thermometer shakes and it took a little more.
It seems to distribute the liquid more evenly then even a syringe. There's a little clean up; the cap you use to fill the liquid and the mouthpiece, but not bad!

I would think there would be a lot of juice between the end cap and the middle cap. Has anyone opened one up after filling this way to inspect?

There's some, yes, but if you let them sit it drains pretty well.
