This new method probably takes about 15 seconds, right? I guess if my time was that valuable, I could see the point. Also, I get rid of the end tabs and o-rings and replace them with the plastic condom with a hole in it, so it's easy on and easy off. But then I only refill as needed, not a bunch at a time. That might be where the advantage is.

I think the main advantage is, you dont have to change anything, use any tools, or count drops etc, also some people say they get more liquid in this way too- maybe a more even distribution or squeezes out the air bubles?, It seems pretty foolproof too in that it never seems to overfill the carto...ie it doesn't leak.
For me the main benifit is as you said- when doing a heap at a time, you have to put the caps back on anyway, so just squirt some liquid in the cap first and shove the carto into it, put the thread cap on and go. (if you get the amount right.)
I haven't tried any other method though so I am not sure if this is the best, cleanest or easiest, I just posted it because no-one else had and I was unsure if it was good or bad for the carto. (I hadn't even taken a look inside one.)
I sort of thought people would say "yeah we tried that ages ago and it sucks because....."

    The spiral-
just cut a wide V out of the O-ring without cutting any from the inside of the circle, then put one side of the V on top of the other, creating a spiral effect, the juice slides back down and drops into the filler, takes about 1 minute and seems to be effective. (actually a Y shape is better)

I did try to take the o-ring out, but I still seemed to be able to suck up some juice.
I am no modder though, so I am sure real people can come up with better.

I love this! I didn't think that I would. EVEN better is it makes it obvious---> which are the higher capacity cartomizers. ( one of my pet peeves that aren't listed by any supplier that I have ever seen)

I've read some cartos only rated for 150 puffs and some as high as 400 puffs!

I just loaded a blank from EA and it's obviously a lower rated one.
Then I just tried to "refill" a cartomizer that I got from Electronic Ash and it took more then a blank. In the video---> it took what a empty one is suppose to take -and it wasn't empty!!

This is GOLDEN info when buying and trying to get the best for your dollar!
Granted- you could get out the syringe, always use the same drop size, etc..but this is neat clean and easy!

    OOps THANK YOU Dogsbody!!!!!!

I read your post earlier and I just tried your "CCFM" -Carto Cap Filler Method, and I must say that it works super on KR808-D1 cartomizers from V4L! I first filled a blank one and then topped off a used one. This is an excellent method thank you!

Well, I just had to give it a shot. The reason I decided to try it is because I've overfilled a couple recently and thought this might help prevent it. It seemd to work pretty danged good. I pushed down very slowly and as soon as I saw 1 drop come out the top, I stopped. I tested both that I did and they vaped fine and no gurgling. At this point, I'm a convert.

just filled one with the spiral method and it leaked quite a bit out of the batt end, I filled from the mouth end.
What do you think I did wrong?
I was trying to get rid of the juice tasting problem.

I would think you need to say something about how much juice was already in it and how old it is.

I am not sure man, mine always seem to get just the right amount, never flood, gurgle or leak. Sometimes I get a drop of liquid in my mouth if using immediately after filling... but the "spiral" fixed that.

The only things I can think of are:

    1) Your cartos are old- I find some that I have filled about 50 times dont absorb liquid as well.

    2) They might be small capacity carts, (as natura pointed out, some brands differ) and maybe they get overfilled using this method?

    3) Your liquid may be too thin or thick? (what are you using brand/flavor/carto brand)

    4) Greencig carts are different, and I haven't had a chance to test this method with them yet, you might have to tweek it to suit.

    If none of the above...

Try using less liquid- I usually just put about half a cap in mine and they take it all and none spills onto the thread, I dont try to fill them right up everytime. Sometimes I cover the other end and give it a shake too. (I dont know if it helps)
If half a cap overfills them, just try putting a third of a cap in each time etc.

Another possible solution would be to pop the end cap so you can see inside when filling from the thread end, and just push down until the liquid reaches the o-ring? (sometimes I do this when filling alot at time and want to clean the end caps)- sort of takes away from the "quick and easy" thing.

Otherwise? I don't know... I will keep thinking about it though!

    Default Spinning and

First I wanted to THANK "Dogsbody" for posting his "refill technique", it makes using CARTOMIZERS much easier, and SAVES lots of MONEY. Beats all the other methods, and makes me want to use Carto's more then drip filling my 501/801/901 regular carts. WELL DONE, my hats off to you!

I posted this in the thread on "spinning", but pasted it here as it answers a question concerning both, and may be helpful overall. Cheers!

Could you still do it? SURE, question is DO you NEED to? Maybe that is what you meant. I'm a relative "newbie", but really like the "CCFM" you mention for CARTOMIZERS. The spinning has it's logic as you can tell from a 40 plus page thread. Since I prefer not getting into the carts, opening, filling, spinning, then adding more juice etc., I like just pushing the juice up through the cap end, I leave the little butt plug loosely in the atty connection hole, and as I push very, very, slowly, when the juice gets near full, it pushes the tiny rubber butt plug up, and I then remove it or it simply falls out, and then I look to see the first drop of juice just appearing in the atty hole end, and STOP pushing the juice condom. If I have to take a paper towel or Q-Tip to clean the connection end, it's no big deal. I then blow very easily from the connection end to make sure the entire hole is clear, and you can see all the way through it. A bit of juice can come out the cap end when you blow, that's the idea, again just a quick wipe, putting an empty 801 tip on the end of the carto will keep any juice out of your mouth anyways if it worries you.

So to answer "our" little question. I took a carto that was getting a bit sour, this is one I reloaded earlier. I dropped 20 drips of PG juice from a 10ml plastic bottle, into the empty rubber carto condom. Pushed the carto down, and it got "full", juice coming out the top, but did NOT take all 20 drops.

DISCLAIMER: The test would, perhaps have been more accurate if I had opened the carto to actually look inside before refilling to see if there was any visible juice, but I did NOT do this, too lazy.... and I wanted to leave some fun for you to try and report back!

So now I had to devise my "spinner". Lots of good ideas in this thread, thanks to Taryn! And I can see in her posts, like me she goes the simple route. No need for me here, to get into mechanical devices, or assembly line production, though thats cool too. I found an old thin aluminum metal cigar case/holder. The kind good cigars used to come in, not sure if they still do. The diameter is perfect for carto's, and the length I had will fit about 5 carto inside, best part is the top screws on. Drop the cigar case into a long thin sock, (just like Taryn's battery bags, only longer and thinner), and another good part is NO one will ask me to post a picture of my "dirty sock"! SPIN around 15-25 seconds. I then RE-DID the condom juice loading to see if I could get the small amount of juice that did not fit in on the first refill attempt. Some more fluid did go into the carto, but not all of it. I estimate that of the original 20 drops, 13 went in on the first refill, and maybe only 4 more on the second attempt, as I still had about 3 drops that would not squeeze in.

My CONCLUSIONS: (based on a carto that has been refilled already, and run not totally dry, which we know is NOT good.)

Seems to me, if you have no problem with the extra time and effort in removing the caps, and filling however you like to put it in, bottle, syringe, etc., then spinning, then adding more, you will most likely get MORE juice in the carto that way. Might be good if you are going out and want or need MAX capacity, again the tradeoff is the extra effort. For me personally, it seems just using the condom method of pushing juice in, works for my needs, and is less time and effort, one step, and done.

NOTE: I most likely WILL continue to spin though, as the added benefit of compacting the juice and distributing it evenly inside the carto could be worth it for better vapeing overall. Since I completely avoid the cap removal replacement steps, spinning the carts is no big time factor, and you might skip it if you are in a hurry.

A real good test (sorry I don't have a new "empty" carto) would be seeing how much you can get into an empty carto, using the condom method and spinning, and trying a 2nd condom refill, as I did above. All my little test did was prove to me that on a carto that was most likely NOT completely empty in the first place, that after spinning, I could NOT get much more juice into it the 2nd time, at least not enough to make a 2nd refill worth it to me. Your mileage may vary!

Just tried this method and man it's so easy! I just got my first PV four days ago and got a free 5ml of TW menthol juice. 'Twas a breeze to fill and you can easily tell if you've added too much juice, and if you blow through the cartomizer before use (from the battery-screw-in-side) I have yet to experience leakage!
