    Spikey's right...q-tips do work better.

Unfortunately for me, I used the last of my q-tips after my shower the other day and haven't gotten to the store to buy more so I did the paper-towel trick.

For the mouthpieces, which can also get quite a bit of fluid in them, you can use q-tips as well...just work them around the sides and make sure to mop up the bottom near the air-hole.

Being a pipe smoker also I have tons of pipe cleaners laying around. These work well for cleaning also. You can get them through the hole in the mouth piece and fold them in half for the wider parts of the cartridge.

Great vid! I'll probably do the same, or check out the fluval (cutting strips with no threads seems appealing). Good tips about wicking too, makes sense to me!

I was going to ask how well pipe-cleaners may work with these devices, thanks for the info smokinclam!

Ok Guys, I was in my fav discount wharehouse today and they were selling quilts as seconds at £5.00 there is a lot of filling ( poly batting) in there. I have restuffed a few carts and refilled them and the results are great, the carts are working just like new. there must be a few years worth in a king size quilt !

    Terraphon,

Thanks for the great video. I went to Walmart today and found a bag of that Poly-Fil you mentioned, came home and followed your video step by step. The results are great....my 901 seems to be smoking better than it did before....fresher taste, easier draw etc.

My only problem is trying to create the little cylinder of poly batting....my clumsy hands don't work very well and it always seems to spring back into a furry little ball. I can't seem to get it to stay put, so I just did the best I could and got it into the inner cartridge, but it was fairly untidy. I ended up using scissors to cut the frayed part at the end to keep it from sticking out, but I'm sure there's a better way.

In your video it looks quite tidy and seems to behave a little better. Any tips?

    Thanks!

    -Cal

Just tried the Fluval, and it works brilliantly! I'm getting the flavour from my liquids much better now, even compared to using a commercially pre-filled empty cart. Cutting a small strip the same length as the original fibre works perfectly, filling the cart but not too densely. Excellent!

I bought some 100% hi loft polyester stuffing (for toys etc) which came in a bag about the size of a small pillow. It's very thin and lightweight and soft and silky, much more so than what's in the EVO for instance and with finer filaments (if that's the right word) and has the occasional bit of thicker white stringy pieces in it which are easy to pick out.

Is this the right stuff as I don't know what "batting" is?
