Cartomizer on DSE-901 auto battery

I've seen a few threads regarding cartomizer adapters for the 901. I just dug out my old 901 batteries and the cartomizer fits snugly on...and works. Draw is a bit hard but it definitely works. Anybody else try this? I'm just curious as to why everyone is looking for adapters.

The thread is the same but there is no air slot, making a harder/no draw. Some people just loosen the battery a bit or dremmel a grove to let air in, but for $2.95 I just ordered an adapter.

I was using a 901 battery extension with a hole drilled in the side. Now I just finished using a Dremel to drill a 1/32" hole through the base of the 901 battery threads (from one side to the other.) Now it works just like an 808 battery (draw) and still works the same with my 901 attys. Finally, a good use for that new 5-pack of 901 batts that have been sitting around since I got my 808...

I bought an adaptor so I could use the K cartomizers on my 510 and my 510 prodigy v2. It works GREAT! Can't wait til my first cartomizer goes dry so I can see if refilling is as easy as it says.

for what it's worth, you can do it the other way around...ie use a 901 atty on a kr808 batt. works great
