    Hope this helps,

No way. I have enough stupid machines trying to tell me what to do.

What we need is a new ritual to make up for the fact that an e-cig doesn't have a beginning, middle and end. You can't light it or stamp it out.

One thing that seems to work a little for me is to press it against my chin or cheek rather than puffing on it every time.
I think that's a partial answer. Collect enough odd little rituals like that and it might solve the problem.

Good question. The answer needs more work, but it's worth tossing around. I want that information, but I don't want a stupid machine making choices for me and dictating what I can or can't do.

One problem is that it would make the thing too expensive.

Another problem is that I still don't have this thing down to a routine. It seems like half the puffs I take are wasted, either because there's too little juice and I don't get a good hit, or too much juice and I get the liquid itself dripping off the end. Now I need another hit because I'm pissed off. Anyway, I can't think of a way for a gadget to count these inconsistant puffs in a meaningful way. Apples & oranges...

Maybe we need a whole forum just for the rituals and habits of mind. Waking up, eating, taking a break. celebrating, driving, computer time, Watching a game, bedtime... What you are thinking and doing is slightly different in each situation.

One thing I've been doing is marking them. A drop of white-out on the black e-cigs, a little tape on the white ones. (I might even start naming them.) I put a mark on the cart so that I can remember which flavor and level of nicotine. I put a mark on the battery/atomizer set to reassure myself that it's not the same one that keeps annoying me. (It's not dead. It just needs a nap.)

I hate that idea, but it's food for thought. Note to self -- find some start & end ritual.

I'm with you. A big part of the problem is those stupid "automatic" batteries. A manual battery makes a huge difference. Another part is throat hit. No matter what the level of nicotine, if I can't feel it, it ain't there.

This is a long thread! I've only finished page 5, but I'm going back.

I rationalize my chain vaping this way: with cigarettes, I'd chainpuff the damn things, whereas with my 510 I take a puff every couple minutes or so to prevent overheating and all that. So in the long run, it's about the same number of puffs

Just got my 510 kit from Happy Vapour on Tuesday. Thought maybe I was just chain vaping due to the novelty but it seems Im not the only one. Maybe it will balance out but I don't really care since I have gone from 1 1/2 packs to 5-6 cigs daily with no intention of quitting. Like many others it seems to be working well for me so if it ain't broke don't fix it

I'm puffing on it for like two hours in a row. I was wondering why my atomiser ran out after a week!

Just to throw in my 2 cents here, I got my ecig to get off analogs and my basic strategy is every time i want a cig i take a puff or two on the ole' vapalator. This is a lot of puffs a day! I've been accused of "going crazy" on my vape on more than one occasion

but i gotta say if my ecig tried to mess with my massive use and not let me do it i wouldnt still be using it and would not have been cigarette free all week (i just got mine) as far as nic strength goes i have 24 mg in right now and havent had any problem with the strength level... now 36 mg might be pushing it lol

Yeah, I find that I sit watching TV at night, reading posts, and dragging on my VP. I only smoke analogs outside the house and I'm down to just a few a day, but I can sit and vape for hours on end! I must admit, though, that I'm also becoming addicted to this forum - guess I just have an "addictive personality" - DUH!!

I can't tell you how many times I've almost lit the led of my ecig. Nor the times that I've "stubbed" it out in the ash tray. Right now, I'm going back and forth between analogs and ecigs (mostly using the ecigs) and, occasionally get confused. I've accidentally laid a lit analog down on my table or desk, absentmindedly thinking it was my ecig, I suppose. Then there was the time that I accidentally tucked a lit analog in the pocket of my jeans. I won't be forgetting that any time soon.

I'm thinking that the sooner I switch exclusively to ecigs, the better. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of making July 4th my quit date. After all, it's Independence Day and I'd like to break completely free of the analogs, once and for all.
LOL thats awesome. I like to keep cigarettes in my mouth unlit for a few minutes as a way of cutting back. I often try to put to put one in my mouth only to find it won't fit.

Here is a small tip i've found helpful. Move your smoke(s), lighters, E-cig etc. etc. just out of arm's reach. This way you have to think a little bit to use them. Could you wait a little while longer before using it again?

Being able to "smoke" indoors makes it harder to cut back. I try to take "smoke breaks" instead.

I had just one room in the house I smoked in because of the rest of the family.
The house was built on an old service garage and part of the garage was made into a family room. Had heat and AC but no cold air return so the smoke didn't get into the rest of the house.
Anyway, I'd go back to the family room, put a double window fan in the window, and puff away. Having to go to a complete different room kept the smoking down when I was home.
Now I can vape in any room so I vape more than I smoked.
