Pipeman - I'm fairly confident that the 510 carts and the new 901 carts which are black, oval in shape with a round hole and squarish end similar to the 510 carts are already doing this. I was drilling a hole in my 510 and a couple of pieces came out. It appears that they are already doing this. If you pop off the end cap on the mouthpiece there's a hole in the second plastic cap.

Anyone tried this on a 401 yet? Would you just need to poke the hole in the inner cart or all the way through everything?

I'm confused. My 901 has cartriges with a brown insert, which can be pulled out. Firstly, are there two different 901's? Secondly, can this mod be applied to the brown insert model, or is this just for the black cartriges?

    Cart Mod for better refilling

Try this method for the two piece carts.

i just took what i had thought to be a pretty much dried out cart, heated a paperclip and poked a small hole through the bottom of the cup that holds the wool and BAM! whole new cartridge almost. before i couldnt get hardly any smoke out of it...now its been smoking almost like new for an hour.

    thanks for the tip!
