I have fingered out new cart filler. medical/dental packing strips they are used to hold medication in after tooth extraction, or wick infection out of a puncture wound ( sorry I know that sounds so bad) but they work like a dream I cut a strip a little over twice the depth of the cart fill the cart 2/3 holding the wick withe the ends even (old at top) insert the two bottom ends then using a very small flat eyeglass screwdriver i push on the middle of the loop just enough to make it stay in wick is now an M inside the cart wick touches atomizer evenly is breathable and absorbent enough to hold liquid plus is cloth like material no frayed end on atomizer very durable.
tryed to post picture of package but am too new to do that.

bonus You don't have to take it out to refill can stick needle/syringe though gauze in the middle crease and inject liquid under it. (gauze sterile strip is in cart n M shape) please let me know if this works for any one else. Now if you will pardon me to find a ski mask so i can go knock off a pharmacy for some gauze, needles and glycerin He He He..............

That sounds an interesting one to try so2late....although I don't know exactly what it is and where I would be able to get it.

Sounds like your average gauze that is sold in pharmacies everywhere. Hmmm....I might have some laying around here. Might be worth a try. I'll let you know.

As we all know, something both absorbent and porous would work best. Can't hurt to try!

This is not the Water Polishing Pad -

I've confirmed that the Fluval Foam filters are indeed a very porous, almost a honeycomb like polyester sponge. Seems to be perfect for our purposes. It doesn't stick to the atomizers in stringy bits and pull off like the Water Polishing pads or the polyfill. It wicks very nicely, holds a good amount of liquid. Don't overfill and don't leave your e-cig upright as you will flood the atomizer as the liquid does leach if the cart is not packed properlu. I found a good rinsing before using helps, and they seem to be durable enough to stand up to quite a few cleanings as well. Here's a link:

The difference in the various sizes from 104 to 405 seems to be in length and width. Thickness remains constant. I also opened up the different sizes at Petco and they all had the same consistency. I went with the 404/405 because I thought it would yield the most cart re-packs.

Great stuff lu.....I am always looking out for something better...as long as it doesn't have anything to do with polyester I am happy ..I don't want to risk any more of that burnt plastic taste.

The main problem i am worried about is the release of PCB's or Dioxins both of which are severe toxins and are produced by burning certain types of plastics especially styrene and plastics that have the word poly in the name like pvc (poly vinyl chloride). Polychlorinated biphenyls is what pcb stands for ugh. and the whole thing with dioxin just think of Vietnam uh any body hear of Agent Orange (A plant defoliant) or Love Canal in New York (A neighborhood that they had problems with Because it was used as a dumping ground for such chemicals as dioxin). it doesn't harm you instantly it just builds up over time. NO I AM NOT A PARANOID NUTJOB I just don't want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire by quitting analogs and inhaling plastic toxins such as poly fill in my e-cig. don't get me wrong i LOVE my e-cigs they are fantastic i want more and i want to start experimenting and researching other types of fillers like cotton

So Polyfill could have some poisonous junk in it? I just reuse the same cartridge over and over, topping off, dripping and squishing it into the bottom to resoak the juice.
E-cigs..... how bout them apples Marlboro?

    Default Fluval foam

Is the Fluval aquarium filter foam safe to use in carts? I'm concerned it might melt causing me to inhale melted foam. BTW, I'm using a DSE901. (If that makes any difference) Thanks in advance for your responses.

Default I think these are the correct cart material

I read the user manual at royalsmoker for the m401

    RoyalSmokers | CT-401| www.Royalsmokers.com

at the bottom of the page.

It says " If you take a
look in side the cartridge, you will see another container with a wet piece of polyester wool, which is
where the nicotine solution is stored. (Polyester wool is used in fish tank filters, so if you need more you
can buy some at a pet shop)"

I went and pick me up FLUVAL water polishing pad at Petco. On the side of the box it says extra thick micro-fine polyester pads. They look exactly like the ones in our carts. They have sandwich layers of polyester like all my cart do.

Take a look at their link at the Petco link
