    I think this would fall under "cotton" which I have not tried.

    this is from a ball of cooking or craft hemp twine - natural - no wax and no color

    i unraveled about 10 inches of the twine into separated very fine fibers - then once i had it really fluffy i just started folding it until i got it to about the right density of fibers

    so far seems good - no funny tastes or anything like that
    update ->

    looks like i did not make it dense enough and it compressed somewhat lower down in the cart after a while

    i will try different variations and see what happens

    Well, I just got done drying the laundry. Pulling out the clothes, I noticed the dryer sheet which was now spent, curiously enough, looked just like the polyfill in the cartridges. These aren't the foam type sheets, but the white plastic feeling woven looking types. I may just cut one up and give it a try.

    Those dryer sheets have fabric softener in them. I don't think you would want to soak your e-juice in fabric softener... Even after most of it has been stripped away through the dryer cycle.

    Just my 2¢

    You couldn't pay me enough to try that. But then I'm highly allergic to many fabric softener sheet fragrances.

    Default dryer sheet worked!

    I cut a strip twice as thick as the cart, rolled it up, stuck it in and cut off the excess. Then opened a hole in the middle and stuck the polyfill back in and filled it up. The sheets are only coated, not woven with the softener. I found no after taste, more vapor and more vaping time. If you really concerned about chemicals, wash the sheet with plain soap and hot water first and then dry it out. I find it funny that about the negative comments here are concerned about inhaling chemicals since most were analog smokers to begin with. How many chemicals were you inhaling all those years smoking cigarettes? 4000+? Now all of sudden your health conscience?

    Not sure if this has been addressed before, but has anyone tried using something like this:

    (100% cotton cigarette filters)

    you can use an aquarium polishing filter (Fluval) that stuff is supposed to be submerged in liquid and is readily available at any pet store
