Cartridge filler materials

I have had some evo cartridges sitting in my drawer for a month....and I just looked at them and the polyester filling in all of them has turned a really dark brown

I've seen that with a couple of mine too that sat around for a while.

I have a ziploc bag completely full of used, unwashed cart wools that has been sitting for over 6 months and none of them have turned dark.

I wonder if air has anything to do with it? Mine are just sitting out...no baggies.

The e-juice turns brown when exposed to air. That is everybodys juice that I have tried. that includes the carts also. Research as shown that bacteria (think it kills it) doesn't do well in PG, don't know about VG.

I replaced my cartridge filling with 100% wool batting that I found at Joann's Fabrics. It works to my liking.

Gings, Are you sure it is wool or is it polyester as the post here have suggested that using wool has some potential negative health effects??---Thanks--Sun

I got some from the pet store filter fiber 100 % polyester should be great for filling. used for fish tanks made by loving pets 4oz bag is fluffy like a pillow. can't be treated with anything i guess or you fish will die

I'm a newbie to the whole e-cig thing (still waiting on my first liquids. Bought an NPro on a whim and love it). I'm also an aquarium addict, and have to agree totally with you. I use this filling for some of my filters (aquarium) and companies aren't going to treat them with anything that can destroy the delicate ecosystem created in an aquarium.

It's definitely 100% wool. The product comes on a roll instead of in a bag, therefore it's sold by the yard. You can purchase less than a yard of course. It's normally sold as insulation material for quilts.

Sun, which wool has been suggested as having negative health effects? I'm not using the steel wool, which I believe has been referenced in this thread, but sheep hair.

Read it today. Thanks! I have one other alternative that I might experiment with--100% unbleached cotton batting. It's another quilting insulation product. In the meantime, my 100% wool (sheep hair) is working for me.
