I finally found a stainless steel scrubber. I paid $3.50 at Ace Hardware this afternoon and it works great. It works even better, though, with a little bit of tea bag filter. I saw all the talk about it yesterday so I added it to the stainless steel. It is with the cleaning supplies, those scrubbers-- not the regular steel wool.
When you buy this, you might think it looks too thick, like it might not work. But when you cut a piece off, that piece is really fine. It's not nearly as thick as it initially appears. And, the only difficult thing about using it is to make sure that the cut sides are facing inward in the cartridge, rather than jabbing the coil. I don't think it would matter, really, because the steel is so fine but, just in case, you know?

You need to have air flow. Soggy cotton will just absorb (especially tampons) and will be difficult to draw. I think cheese cloth would get all wet and clumpy. That's why something that holds liquid but doesn't absorb it all works better.

Lipton bag material
Here is what i tried with the standard Lipton tea bag...
Removed the string and staple at top of bag and emptied contents.
Laid remaining paper flat and cut a strip from the entire length of the paper and rolled into a small tube
Inserted paper tube into an empty KB cart and trimmed to fit
Used the end of a paper clip to loosen the center of the paper tube so it would fill the cart better.
Added 50 (Not a typo....50!) drops of Janty RY4 liquid to the cart and decided to stop there even though the cart was not completely full.
After the first couple of pulls, the atomizer sounded flooded, so I removed the cart and inserted a mouthpiece and vaped until the atomizer started drying out, then reinserted the cart and it has been vaping for over 5 hrs. so far!!!
Incredibly Ingenius Idea!!!! So simple yet So effective!!!
Gonna try the coffee filter paper idea next. I wanna find the material that wicks the best, leaving the cart virtually empty of liquid.
This is by far the best idea I've run accrossed for a cart repacking material yet!!!! Thanks for sharing a great idea with all us Newbs!

OMG I love using the teabag. This produces a way better draw and vapor. Bonus is, I won't have to worry about all those loose poly fibers coming off the cartridge and melting on my atomizer. As well, I won't have to go through the weekly maintaince of washing out the cartridge's filler.
Thank you for all for the great idea.
