Easier Cartridge Refills for RN4081's
For those of us who do not use syringes, refilling can be often be a hit or miss affair.
I ordered liquid from Puresmoker for the first time just before the move. When I got the bottle, it's nozzle was shorter and stouter than I was accustomed to so my carts were harder to fill. I then hit upon the idea of removing the tiny cores from the carts and filling them. Giving the cart a good whacking will dislodge them but that seemed like too much work, that and searching for the core when it goes flying out across the room encouraged me to find other methods. What I needed was the proper tool. At first I thought about using tweezers, but the throat of the carts were too narrow for any that I had on hand. The solution was sitting there on my desk the whole time: drinking straws! Some are too small for the task, but the ones you typically get from fast food joints are just the right size. If you flare one end slightly with the tip of an ink pen you can make yourself a handy dandy core wrench. Just insert it into the cart and twist it into position and press down around the core. Then pull it out, wipe it off with a tissue (to keep the juice off your hands), pull the core out of the straw, and presto a much easier filling experience. When the core is full just drop it back into the cart and seat it with the silicone plug. I typically do 8 or groups of 8 per session because I can fit 8 unwrapped carts in the same box that the 5 prepackaged carts came in. I then store these boxes in ZipLok baggies and keep them in a cool, dark place until ready for use.
Hope y'all find this helpful.

I normally drip my 4081's but when I have to refill the carts to have them handy when driving (Dripping and driving is a no no!) I do the following:
1. Using a paper clip, I bend it straight.
2. Insert into hole and push out white cart until it is flush with the top of the outer cart.
3. Using tweezers, pull out filler (stuffing or whatever the hell it's called) and wash it out with running tap water.
4. When clean, tap dry with paper towel.
5. Drop liquid into empty cart till it's about 1/2 way full.
6. Insert cart filler and soak it in the liquid a bit.
7. Drip 3-4 more drops on top until it's nice and moist (Not soaked, you'll be drinking it).
8. place rubber cap back on and let it sit overnight giving the filler a chance to soak it all up.
9. Next day, good to go.
In about 10 minutes, I can knock out about 5-7 carts, more than enough for a day or so.

Hey Blue Knight
Does letting the cart sit over night to let liquid absorb make any differance.I just fill and use right away 1 cart at a time.
Thanks For Any Feedback

Thanks for the step by step tips, Blue!

It seems to me that letting the carts sit at least a little after refilling/topping off improves performance.
I don't necessarily let them sit overnight, though I do tend to refill everything at night. But I have started alternating between a couple carts. When one runs empty, refill it and use the other. When that is empty, go back to the first one I refilled earlier. Wash, rinse, repeat...
Seems to work well for me.

I do this for my pilots... and overnight seems to improve performance by 75% at LEAST. Seems to take min of 4-7 hours before it "soaks in".

Lol BenJammin, I'm sorry you had to go through all that, but if you just take a paperclip or a needle and push it through the hole of the mouthpiece and the core will pop out.

I'm currently out on the road, and have to use the materials I have on hand. It actually takes far longer to describe the process than it does to do it. And the idea of having a sharp needle drenched in Extra Strength nic scares the bejeezus out of me. Risky enough getting on your skin much less possibly getting it under your skin. But I will remember the paperclip trick as another tool in my arsenal.

couple of ideas if you dont have a proper "tool"
-paperclip (what i always have handy)
-A Staple. Grab any stapler, do a blank run like your stapling a piece of paper, take the folded staple it ejected, unfold one end... and u can use that to pop out your cart.
-earing
-tack
-end of a corn holder (lmao i couldn't find anything else at the moment)
another usually effective method that i use in desperation (because the core goes flying) is just turn it upside down and hurl the f-ing thing at a hard surface. The floor worked for me. Try to get it so your hitting the open end against the floor (obv. lol)
just a couple tips..
