I just got my new SD Friday. The charger never did turn green when I was charging the second battery, but the battery worked ok. Emailed TW, figured I probably need a different charger.

So. Yesterday, I put the button cover on it and put it in my pocket before I was playing in a concert. I was on stage for warm up and guess what - the darn thing heated up and almost burned my leg. I'm busy playing my viola and my pocket is getting hotter and hotter.

As soon as we played the last note, I yanked it out and got the battery out of it. Later I discovered it had totally melted the cart!

Didn't even mess with it the rest of the day, set it up again with a different batt today and took a drag - with the button cover on -not awake yet- and got vapor. Wait, that isn't supposed to happen!! Discovered that the button unscrews. Manual didn't say that. I didn't know that. So the button was loose, which makes the button cover push it in and engage the battery. At least it didn't happen during the concert!

Make sure your button is screwed on all the way before putting the button cover on it! If not, the cover pushes the button in and it's constantly on.

I phoned TW this am to let them know, but thought I should post so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I forgot to ask if the atty is safe to use since the cart melted. At least it didn't die! But I can't help but wonder if there's still some plastic on the coil.

i would think a very small dab of nail polish would secure the screw/spring/button...

and am i in trouble for saying trog100?

Trog has posted about this on the SD forum.......

The MK11 Screwdriver switch is designed to be removable for user cleaning if required..

It seems some arrived not fully tightened we might end up locking them but as yet we are leaving them user removable..

As soon as we became aware of the problem we started putting an additional note in the packages.

We could lock them solid but the consensus opinion is leave them as they are...

It does require the user to occasionally pop their finger down the end and spin the button up if they start to come loose on their own.

this kept on happening to m left and right when I first got mine.
I removed my button and installed a tap instead.. now I just simply have a switch operated .. one way tap .. and all I have to do is tap the switch one way it is on.. when , I am done- I tap it right back of... and I installed a pressure plate type colapsible circuit... ( took quite a while to get set to the right temp.. but , as soon as the battery heats up to my set point.. It safely collapses the circuit ... and shut the power supply down!!! Nothing easier than having a switch that you can depend on for your preference.

I didn't mind the original switch.. It was confortable. I just wanted to put a little custom twist on my own.

If you mean it warped out of shape then it should not be any problem .

If it has actually disintigrated (not seen any do this) I would not use the atty as some of it may be stuck to the bridge.

Same thing happened to mine. Be very careful! I nearly burned my fingers, the top of the atomiseur melted in. I hadn't even used it yet but that saw off the first vapouriser it seems.
I didn't see a not in the package, only got it last week.
Now after less than a week the whole unit's stoopped working! Hopefully it's just the spare vapouriser not working but I'm not exactly filled with confidence now.

My Mk 2 has been fine thus far. I checked the tightness of the switch screw and it is solid. The atomisers are like any other 4075 (901) atty - variable - the two that came with mine seem to be good ones, but I've had weak and dead ones in the past.

Hi BB sorry to hear you are having problems.

Test the atomiser
Make sure you have a freshly charged battery inserted.
Remove the cart and press the switch, look inside and it should be glowing if not it is most likely dead and you need new ones.
It is always a good idea to have a few spares.

If it is glowing but the vapour is poor or nonexistent then it may have too much liquid built up in it, try blow it out from the end you screw in to the SD.

Make sure the material in the cart is flush with the end and not pushed up inside as it needs to touch the bridge when you insert it, if it does not then this can cause the vapour production to drop.

New atomisers can also sometimes be very dry and take a few hours of vaping to kick in but they should produce some vapour.

The contacts between the atomiser and the SD should also be wiped on a regular basis to keep them clean.

aw man i got to get a mk ll, no tool part cleaning or repair. but i got alot of the 16340batterys, and the mk ll takes BIGGER batts.

Keef, i put that link for Kamanjah in a pm, was having a lot of trouble logging on SD forum. and i think it was on TW`s.

and Kamanjah, aside from the switch, how is your SD vape?
i remeber when you held mine at the fair, you said its so small (i felt red in the face

) so now yours is bigger hehehe
i may sell my second mk 1 and get a mk ll, the way i vape, i`ll need more batterys

I hadn't even used it yet but that saw off the first vapouriser it seems. I didn't see a not in the package, only got it last week. Now after less than a week the whole unit's stoopped working! Hopefully it's just the spare vapouriser not working but I'm not exactly filled with confidence now.
