So has anyone been through Airport security with an ecig? Are they allowed on planes and has anyone vaped on the plane? Or do they confiscate them like they do for lighters.

This guy could tell you: e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat - View Profile: RIAFlight25 And yeah. People have vaped on planes. But I haven't.

My friends did it on the way to Milwaukee for a Tattoo Convention, but I toughed it out on the 2 hour flight. I didn't wanna stir up any trouble.

Yup, definitely check out the travel link. I typically travel American Airlines, and they have a specific policy forbidding using e-cigs (although you can carry them onto the plane). However, I stealth vape without an issue. Hold your breath long enough, and there's no vapor on the exhale. I think it helps that I don't vape with something that looks like a cigarette. I figure if I get caught, I'll just play dumb and put it away. No problems going through security . . . just have to put your liquids in the 1 quart baggie along with your other liquids/lotions/potions. |

AirTran (in early july and august) expressly forbid bringing an e-cig through security.. Said that it had a heating element that could be a security hazard. I didn't test them and simply put it in my check-in luggage, making sure to clearly label all my gear... Didn't want to risk tsa throwing it out

But here's the real question I have: Has anyone tried grabbing a few hits in the bathroom? Do you think it'll set off the smoke detector even though it isn't smoke? I've been tempted a few times to duck in for a puff or two but paranoid I'd set it off and spend the night in jail!! Anybody try it? |

| This is one area where vaporless juice would be handy to have. Combine vaporless juice with an unlit PV and noboby would know. |

![]() Personally, I won't do it. I take a few puffs in my seat and hold my breath until there's no vapor on exhale. I figure if a flight attendant catches me, I can claim ignorance. | |
