Airport security.
Has anyone had problems taking their cig through a security checkpoint at an airport?
I have a friend who is taking a trip soon and just made her first purchase and is kinda worried. Any advice is helpful. Thanks all.

I recently flew from California home to AZ. I got dropped off at the unloading curb and checked my bags immediately. I went in, used the restroom & then remembered that my e-cig was still in my purse. I had planned to just check it in my bag so I wouldn't have any issues. I ran out to where I checked my bags but they were already gone. I explained my situation and they told me not to worry about it, I would make it through security okay & they were allowed. The guy knew exactly what it was & said it wasn't a problem, I could take it on the plane. That was Southwest Airlines, each airline may have their own policy so just tell your friend to call the airline & ask. I didn't have any problems though.

Just flew from Utah to Spokane.....I had no problems in SLC airport with security at all.
Flying back Spokane airport security check did check my E-cigs out I told them what it was and the security officer and I had a great conversation about them and she was thinking about trying them out. On the plane I had a small 25 min layover in Boise and was needing a vape.....I took my 510 out and vaped a little in the seat while they cleaned, blowing out in my sleeve. They I just went to the bathroom to get some good puffs, blowing in the sink. No prob at all and I was good to go. The man behind me really smelled like smoke and I know he had to be jonesing for a cig ....I am glad I dont have to feel that anymore.

I live in Spokane and I was wondering what the reaction would be at that airport. It's good to know that people are able to get them past security with out much of a problem.

Actually, NO problem.
The e-cig is not illegal. TSA don't care about them.

Thanks to every one who responded. My friend was worried and I knew you would have the answers. Have a great day.

I called the TSA before I flew to Mexico, just to be sure.
The assured me that they were familiar with them and had absolutely no problem with e-cigs.
I had one kit in my carry-on and one in my checked luggage...just in case!
