I purchased the Mistral PG about 6 months ago off ebay, but at that time, they were advertising it as BP/USP. Later listings dropped the BP/USP classification and when someone (it may have been Nick O Teen?) contacted them to check whether or not it was pharma grade, they were told it was not. So, just a word of warning here... if it's not marked as BP or USP, it mot likely isn't. |

That's fine : USP stands for US pharmacopeia grade; BP stands for British pharmacopeia grade How long ago did you buy it Jefflan? |

Maybe someone could contact them to check? (I've got enough here to last me a couple of years!!) EDIT: I would stress that I didn't contact them to check whether or not it was BP, but someone else reported that they had and they stated it was not, so may be worth checking. | ||

Hi quite a few replies. Just been to 2 chemists (including Boots) they can't get it, EU regs and fear of misuse - tommyrot. I'm sure glycerin was about 90p for 200mls last time but it's £1.38 today. Anyway I've ordered a Litre of PG from Mistrali. It is USP btw. Cheers. |

Is there any reason why PG should be better than VG? If not, then VG seems a lot cheaper and easier to get.

The main one is, I think viscosity, VG is very thick. Otherwise VG is sweet tasting and produces lots of vapour. Some people claim allergy to PG so use VG instead. Pg is otherwise inert. Some also claim tummy upsets. General consensus seems to be 70-80% PG to20-30%VG as a mixing base. BTW PG order came this morning from Mistral - super quick, only 48hrs. |
