    Good morning all

long time lurker first time poster

i have had a ds901 from uk supplier for about 6 weeks and i am having reliability issues with the batteries the first two were replaced and i have bought a third so i have 6 in total but only 2 that sort of work.
the symptoms vary i have one that just heats the atomiser and melts the cartridges.
and the others i can get maybe 2 drags then the light stays on heats the atomiser then the light flashes.

i understand they are mass produced and arnt going to last forever but they should last longer than a couple of days

i have emailed the company again but no response yet

is there anything i can do to get the batteries working again or should i just keep buying batteries until i get a reliable, which at £8 a time gets expensive

    Hi leicesterlad and welcome......

Have you tried a different atomiser to make sure that not the problem? (presume you probably have?)

Your right the batteries should last longer than a few days, they do deteriorate in the charge they hold but over weeks not days! A new battery should last a couple of hours average vaping at least before you need to recharge it!

I think i would consider sending the whole package back and requesting a new setup?

Your right it no use keep buying batteries until you sort out with supplier what the problem is (though it is handy to have a few spare batteries)

Hope you sort it out and keep us informed?

If I look at the symptoms I get a few ideas.

Do you put a lot of liquid in? Is the switch sticking on because it's a bit claggy? regular DSE901 vapers will advise you on this one.

and the others i can get maybe 2 drags then the light stays on heats the atomiser then the light flashes.
This reminds me of trying to drag too heavily and too long on the e-cig like an analog. If you have an instruction booklet it'll warn you that if you do this the light will flash six times I think, then there is a cut-off. This is to protect the atty from overheating. Do a primer puff, short puff, then try to sip gently and steadily more, rather than suck, a bit like pipe smoking in a series of three or four seconds each draw with about one second in between for the led to go out. Check you don't have your thumb over the air intake hole. Make sure the batts are well charged too of course.

Find a YouTube vid on the DSE 901. Watch how the reviewer vapes.

If they are in the suppliers' forum, contact them again by Private message. But first try practising yr technique.

Hope this helps, and I'm sure other 901 vapers will also have words of wisdom to add.

    Best,

    Hi Leicester,

Good luck with the 901 - I never liked it much (though there are THOUSANDS of people here who would disagree with me). However I've found that it works much better on a USB passthrough than batteries. I know it's another expenditure but imho it's worth it!

Yet I've had 2 from 2 different suppliers - one was more-or-less DOA and the other lasted about a week

Our precious 901 (and I do love it) has been made under the very lowest quality control standards

Back to passthru - PureSmoker, a US supplier, is making a manual passthru ("manual" means there's a switch on it that you press to activate the battery just before you puff) to high standards, it will have a decent warranty and you can use it with your current atomisers and carts - but you will have to stay attached to your PC/laptop to use it, unless you buy a portable charging pack Simon at e-cigs.co.uk is taking advance orders @ about £22:

    PS Manual USBPass - Mini (DSE901/RN4075) ***PRE-ORDER* [PSUSB901] - £21.99 : E-Cigs.co.uk, Online Store

Well, it's something to bear in mind if you want a guarantee of sustained vaping at some point in your day

Currently using: Thai Fistpack; Screwdriver with neck lanyard (no more broken buttons!); Dibley PT (third one with flaky button)
