This "They're not cigs" thing....
Seems our colonial cousins are hell bent on calling electronic cigarettes anything but electronic cigarettes (as can be seen elsewhere on this system).
I'm not sure what to make of it, frankly. I don't really see what the problem is - but, as I've alluded in another thread, I've had a few giggles coming up with politically correct acronyms and titles - Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhalation System, anyone?
Or...
Electronically-Titrated Inhalation Therapy System
Or...
Nicotine Inhalation (Positively Pressurised Liquid) Equipment
Not sure which I'd rather suck on...
E-cigs are
not "quit smoking" devices - they are
an alternative way to smoke, with a much reduced risk profile.

Naughty boy!
Seriously though our American friends seem to be having a lot more problems with the FDA than we have with the powers that be over here at present. I can understand their concerns and sympathise. If it doesn't look like a cigarette it is much less likely to be taken for one imho. I regularly call my Janty Stick a Nicotine Vaporiser - people are much more positively interested in it when put that way.

Agreed Pipeman, I tend to refer to mine as Personal Vaporizers, but I do like the Nicotine Vaporiser title.. thats a good one, and self explanatory..
Yes Im going to adopt that one.
I have to agree with the Americans on this one, as I too would like to see Approval granted in the UK, so we can see some proper testing done etc.,
Lets face it in a year or two's time we are all going to find some negatives showing up regarding our current nicotine habit and how we administer it, and I for one would love to know what nasties we can best avoid etc.,
My current concerns are flavourings and PG, VG long term effects...

The problem is that with all things, if its good and you like it it will be bad for you.
the main thing that is good with these is that so far there is no polonium b12 in them or meny of the other real nasties that are in Personal in halation bla bla bla .....that you set fire to.

Agreed Bjorn, but the longer the Government stays out of it, the longer it will be till we get the tests we need.
Although I dont have a lot of faith in this kind of testing as day after day we read reports that this is good for you or that is bad for you, and then the following week, its all change again...
Now alcohol in moderation is good for you.. and is coffee good or bad this week? I have lost track..

Everything that we consume has a tendency to harm us. When we eat good food the process of getting the nutrients into our system creates undesirable by-products. Over time we all age and die. It's called life. Cheery thought, eh?
