IOW, female descendants of American colonists who fought in the Revolutionary War.

Likewise, the DoC are female descendants of those who fought in the Recent Unpleasantness War of Northern Aggression, aka the "Civil War" as the yankees like to call it.

Cali's is "native daughters of the golden west " and Sons ....here they actually do alot of good charity work ,amongst other things . My former boss is very involved ...trys to get me all the time ....i'll join when i'm older as they do seem to have a lot of fun and travel .I like it because hubby "rolls his eyes " lmao .

Yes, DAR is involved in a lot of good charitable causes also. I just know what my aunt has told me about the less than charitable behavior of many of the women in her chapter. Infighting and ego trips and general b***chiness abound. She finally dropped out of it a few years ago for that reason......

Someone is grilling out and smoke is coming in my windows. Dinner at 10:30 at night....... people think it's summer with this crazy weather. The robins do too; they have come back to join their few friends that stayed over the winter.

No doubt Lisa ,i would think that could be very stressful .DId you ever see "gilmore girls " series ? her ultra rich society mom was in DAR .Oh boy .. I am sure there are politics in all these things but Sharon has not had a problem even as a long time officer in this cali version .I'd just be a silent member sheesh almost bedtime already !

Yes, bedtime soon. I didn't sleep last night. I finally gave up at about 2:30, went back to bed at 4:30, got up at 6:00...... and I don't even really feel that tired. I think maybe a glass of wine might help knock me out

Good morning everyone .Lisa i hate that ,like this morning up at 530 for no apparent reason lol crappola .
Whoever said you need less sleep when you age is full of it ,i need MORE .I was so excited thinking i'd be one of those super achiever 6 hour sleep people ,not .
Last nite i said to hubby "this is bs lets get me a job in san jose and go back to the city ,he said hell no he is not paying those rents ever again ...torn because i love it here but miss my city peeps .tis life .

Good Morning V4Lers. I woke up a lot last night but its because it was crowded.Had Me,the Hubs,Daughter and 2 dogs in the bed,LOL! Part of me likes the crowded feeling. The other part of me wants to sleep and needs space. Oh well!
