KC how long does the refill cart last you?I followed your vid to the tee and this cart only lasted me about 4 hours compared to the 1 1/2 days I get with a prefill.

they typically last me (remember we all vape differently) a few hours of moderate vaping...they never quite last as long as the first use, primarily because the key to recognizing emptiness is that hint of burnt taste. since you've done it once, next time it'll be a little easier to detect, and the next a little easier. thats why i toss them at about 10ish...one the burnt taste gets stubborn in the bin it goes.

Now you *could* pack every last drop of juice possible in them, then use a passthrough to cook them down to vapability (they'd be grossly flooded) and maybe get more duration out of them..but you have to remember that with a used cartomizer, you're dealing with an unknown..with an empty theyre dealing with a set known value (in reference to how much total juice can possibly fit). Used carts typically contain juice, when theyre needing refilled. The amount of that juice depends on several factors, incuding how well centered the atty was on that particular one, the fluffiness of the batting on that particular one, one or two other things like temperature and type of e-liquid (theyre not all the same thickness, vid proves that one LOL).

it's *always* better to err on the side of caution (not quite full) than err on the side of recklessness (omg drowning in juice) in my opinion. as a consequence, they wont vape quite as long as a new fresh cart, and really they shouldn't...if refills vaped as good as new ones, everyone would be out buying used ones, right? haha

Yes many good points in your response there KC.I just wanted to make sure that I was not doing it wrong. Now there is no danger of killing your passthru if you do over juice your cart?I went a little nuts with my last refill and when I did the light test I saw the middle blocked by some juice and I cooked it with the pass thru for a bit then rechecked and it cleared but i was worried that my passthru might have been punished for my noob mistake.

you can actually shake out extra juice if your joints can take the force needed to do so...you know how you shake a bottle to sling all the sauce to the cap end? you do that with a cartomizer too, hard as you can towards the battery end...select your target well though or you'll get juice on the wall/floor/cat/wife then there'll be hell to pay.

an auto pt you can indeed kill with juice. the new manual pt is sealed, you can see the little blob of silicone they put in it to seal it. definately a plus, no need for a hole on a manual lol.. the manual batts are sealed too

I've also discovered another 'bump in the road' when refilling. The first few carts worked perfectly well but then I ran into a couple that, even though I knew they were pretty dry, when I tried to refill, the drop just pooled at the top until I finally took the plug out and then it dissipated down into the filler. I'm thinking that the batting is so tight that there isn't enough air circulation to allow the juice to absorb when the plug is in. Which kind of explained to me why some of my carts, even from brand new, can be really tough to pull on. Have you ever had this happen, KC? And yes ... I've found that it is way better to err on the safe side when refilling!! Have to get myself one of those manual passthru's!!

Three things that might help here.

    1. The shake out thing that KC does in this video.

    2. The plunger method described by Gib (basically you put a plastic cap on the mouthpiece end (with the plug still in the battery end and the o-ring and white plastic cap still off). You push the cap all the way down then take your finger or some other small rounded tip item and push the middle of the plastic down toward the inside of the cartomizer. Do this a couple of times and it should force the juice into the batting.

    3. Take a paper clip or other small pointed object and gently loosen the edge of the batting away from the interior walls of the cartomizer. Do this in just a few places and this will give the juice somewhere to go and allow it to saturate more easily.

Hope one of those works for you!

Number 1 works for thicksauce...when youre dealin with VG or insanely thick PG like some of the custom stuff..and might work in her case

number 3 is a win, in a way..paperclip, safety pin, whatever thin and long you got...but my suggestion is to put it in the top side (side you're not filling) to allow air flow. I rarely have this issue with a cart..but i'll admit, it did happen to me maybe 3x...if you saw the pile of carts i got over here (like 20 now) you'd know what i mean by rarely.

Some of you know just how much juice i hammer down in a week...lifespan of my cartomizers is...extended..and thats putting it loosely haha, i milk them till theyve either developed burned flavor permanent, or taste funny from half vaped juice buildup.

Then i put on a new cartomizer and im like WOW! yum!...over time you forget just how good a new one is haha

You don't need to push the cap all the way down. You can push it about 3/4 of the way down and then pinch the top of the cap between your fingers and thumb and pull it back up. Then back down, then up, then down..etc.. while still pinching. Quick and easy. No lube needed.

    (hope I didn't offend anyone )
