My next attempt is going to be simply vaping it as empty as possible and then putting in about 1/4 full of the new liquid, vaping that, and seeing whether the old flavor 'goes away'.
I'll update more later... but at around $8 per clearomizer, I simply can't afford to replace them every time I want to change flavors. I guess once I settle on 2 or 3 liquids that I want to stick with, I should be OK. Other than this situation (which was most certainly my fault - maybe I put in the water too quickly causing too much pressure - not sure), they have been durable for me even after several refills.
