Default Video Review - Joye-510 from E-SmokeyTreats

This is a video review of the Joye-510 from E-SmokeyTreats.

Battery Life - 3.5
Vapor production - 10.
Throat hit - 10
Cut off - 10
Down time - 10
Draw Weight (new category, see below) - Mouth inhale - light to medium : Direct inhale medium to heavy.
Switch reliability - 10
Consistency - 8
Overall reliability - Tentative 8.
Customer Service score - 10
Shipping - 10
Overall score - 9

Hardware review criteria -

1) In all cases I will use a fully charged battery, removed from the charger within 5 minutes of the start of the review.
2) In all cases I will use a clean, freshly primed atomizer. All atomizers will be past the "factory prime" stage in order to provide accurate expectations.
3) In all cases, I will use a brand new cartridge, unpackaged on cam.

All hardware will be tested over time before it is reviewed. Each review will simply be a visual summary of the information I have gained from using the hardware over at least a 24 hour period.

Review scoring as as follows;

Battery life - Scores the full life of the battery, from first draw to flashing light. - 1 point per hour.
Vapor production - Scores the amount of vapor visible on exhale.
Throat hit - This covers the amount of throat hit ON AVERAGE. Some models give a better hit when warmed up so this will be taken in to consideration
Cut off - Scores how long the e-cig can be drawn on before it cuts off and stops cooking the atomizer.
Down time - How long is the user forced to wait after a cut-off. Longer wait = lower score.
Draw weight - This defines how easy or hard it is to "drag" from the unit. Free-flow to Lung-buster. This is un-scored because it is very subjective but should be mentioned.
Switch reliability - Does it not light when it's supposed to? Does it light up when it shouldnt?
Consistency - Does the E-cig provide reliable, consistent vapor production and throat hit?
Overall reliability - Does the e-cig just work or does it require voodoo magic and constant fixing to make it go?
Customer service (This only applies to the supplier)
Shipping (This only applies to the supplier)
Overall score - This is the final, overall score and is NOT an average. It encompasses my feeling for all aspects of the e-cig and supplier experience.

Spot on Terraphon. I picked one of these up to have a smaller unit to couple with my penstyle and also be able to drip. As you say, it is a great unit and the throat hit is out of control. The batteries life is an issue, but as you say, just bear that in mind when you are using it and you will be a happy camper---Apprecate the effort--Sun

Thanks for the comment, Sun.

I mentioned the PCC in the video, as well...I think I will review the PCC tomorrow and include it as part of this post because I think it is important for people to understand what it is, how it works and how it makes the battery life score jump dramatically when it's used.

I think everyone should have one and I think every manufacturer should make one for every e-cig model. They're amazing.

HAHAHAHAAH that face when you took that 2nd drag was priceless lmao.
Great review man, that looks to be the wide band dura style atty, which is the best one. I have a dura and the joye 510 one I received today from cigtech. The generic thin band ones fit a bit different and I had to sandpaper a bit off the atty side of the cart to keep it from melting. After I did this its rockin and rolling.

*edit* sorry I laughed, cause that was the same look I had on my face also. Great review I watched it again.

Sweet vid, pretty much dead on. I have seen videos complaining about the unit getting to hot to touch but I haven't gotten anywhere close to that point and I have tried. I'm going on three weeks with mine and zero problems. My atomizers are just like the day I bought them. 510 ftw.

I will say this. I have had it get hot...ish...

I've never gotten it hot enough that I didn't want to touch it or that I was worried about the cartridge melting. I reckon that anyone that pushes it that hard is either vaping super-weak juice and isn't getting their buzz on or they're just doing it wrong.

Like I said in the review, I love this thing.

Going to order more parts ASAP. I don't want to risk being without my 510...EVER.

Yeah I haven't had any problems with the dura c atty, cause the bridge is diff. They are wider and not as pointy. The joye 510 attys I got today seem to sit way deeper in the cart. It didn't melt but a super tiny bit, but enough to get a bit of plastic. I can't take more than about a 4ish sec drag off this thing with 36mg juice, it just kicks too much azz. There seems to be a different design between the two, so prlly is gonna require a different bit of finesse between them. So far they both rock, I retired my 901 good unit but the 510 is my kit of choice now. I have seen pics of some that looked like someone tossed it in the microwave for 5 mins it was warped so bad. You would think burnt tire would be very evident before that happened heh.

Great review, Terraphon. I just got my 510 last week and LOVE it... and now I know what I must have looked like when I played with it after breaking in the atty.

I haven't bought the PCC yet, although it will be in my next order. I'll be looking forward to seeing your video on it.

THE 510-C ROCKS!

Good review, agree on all counts..love my 510, hate the batteries, love the PT.

One suggestion, can take or leave it. maybe you want an 'out of the box' using factory carts across all models, for the 'joe public' review you mentioned in the evo review, but then also a single standard liquid that you use with a blank cart, so it can be used as a real 'standard' across models?

Otherwise, you get carts with more VG...more vapor, but...it's not really in comparison to any other model's carts.

Totally agree. Unless you want to hold a flashlight up to your mouth the 510 is the best e-cig out!
