Default Iolite/I-inhale

Ok I would just like to say a few things before anyone watches this, I have never done a review before so I had no idea what to do, I'm not much of a people person unless I'm drunk. So try not to leave any horrible comments about it. If I missed anything just let me know and I'll try to do another video covering it. Oh and the only reason the video is in 10 parts is because I had loads to cover, and well I didn't really know how to use my camera at first.

Thanks for the review of the Iolite Crash. I was thinking of trying one months ago. I was wondering then if it would be an alternative should PV's get banned. From your review I know now that it would not be an alternative for me. It kind of frightened me when I saw you just about hack a lung up, then say you had to stop because it was too much for you. Then saying your lungs were hurting. Then you go on to say that it got so hot it had burnt your hand.

The size if the thing is certainly not discrete. But I am most concerned with the seemingly harshness on your face and coughing that happened in your video. Then when you were showing the immediate build up of burnt liquid and cleaning of it, I started to get the most concerned. That was alot of brown/black looking burnt stuff.

Quite a bit ago there was much discussion of the possible health affects of the liquid getting too hot in atomizers and burning. It seems to me from your video that the Iolite is definitely burning the VG and/or PG in the liquid. Concerns voiced before were to the affect of VG turning to Acrolein that was produced by high heat. PG break down was not discussed much (In my memory) as it took a higher temp. to degrade. Which now in the Iolite I would think to be a big concern also.

What I am trying to say, is please do some more research so you can make an informed decision if you should continue to use the Iolite to burn e-liquid and inhale it. Here is a starter thread to give you some more information. Decomposition of VG to acrolein There are more if you search here on ECF.

Please be careful.

Thanks mufftrix, Agnes I just did the e liquid thing to show people, i personally only use it for molasses and herbs a few drops on the molasses every now and then, but no way can I handle e liquid from that thing. But if someone wishes to use to subtitle their hooka smoking habits its a great lil device, and I sorta had to buy one since it's made in Ireland and I live here . But yea you're right anyone thats planning on using this for eliquid do your research.

Rusty if I would have used the pipe it would have distracted everyone because it is an extremely cool lil device as you and I both know. But I think I might do a review on it. Just a one part though ha

Unfortunatley I dont have time to watch the vids til tomorrow, but thanks for posting crash. The Iolite works well with eliquid if you use it right, let me watch and digest tomorrow and I'll post again.

Acrolein is not a problem, it will not form in eliquid at the Iolite's controlled 190C. That temperature is high enough to burn e-liquid if it gets too hot too quickly.

Andy

Cheers Frog, it was your guide that made me buy it in the first place so would love to know what you think.

Hi, Crash . . . great first review.

Now, it is possible that I missed something since I have 100 million things going on in the background here, but it seems like you simply put eliquid in the bowl with no cotton. If so, YIKES!!!! The mere fact that you could inhale and live to tell about it is a testament to the resiliency of youth.

The Iolite really requires a lot more experimentation and patience than an e-cig, but once you figure it out, it's a wonderful vaping experience.

When you use liquid, I personally find that adding cotton as a filler works well. I add a few drops of eliquid on the cotton and then I add 2-3 drops of glycerine on top of that. You'll find that the cotton slows down the vaporization of the liquid. The glycerine not only cuts the nicotine, but it also mellows the liquid itself. In other words, even if I use a very low nicotine liquid, I still add a few drops of glycerine.

Three more tips that I personally have found helpful: First, don't saturate the cotton. If you saturate the cotton, the vape will tend to be harsher. Second, while the Iolite will produce vapor within about 30 seconds or so, the best flavor is after it's been going for a few minutes. Third, high nicotine solutions will kick your butt with the Iolite--the higher the nicotine concentration, the more you need the glycerine. Trust me on this one.

I'll be curious to hear Andy's thoughts on this.
