With each review of this thing I watch, I want it even more... but I just can't get past the $40 atomizer issue. If they were able to use stock 510 attys, I would've bought the 601 yesterday... are there any mods to do that? I might actually invest some time/tools for that...

Seriously, if a $40 atomizer that may need to be replaced in three months costs more than, say 4 penstyle atomizers at $10 each that may likely die in the same period of time, then do not by a DSE601.

So they're engineered to provide optimum performance for at least three months? I was under the impression they were no different than regular attys, i.e. hit or miss. Are they given tighter manufacturing tolerances because they're pipes and exude wisdom or something? Oh, and not everyone pays ten bucks for an atomizer.......

My atomizer didn't die, the switch crapped out after a couple months (very light use). The wood cracked the first week I owned it. Other than that I guess it was okay. I did enjoy the "feel" of it. |

I used to love this pipe! OK..I still do...kinda! I do enjoy slow vaping sometimes, but it can get tiring at times. YUP...around the jaw. I also found that it vapes better upside down. For days, I have been doing tests on this upside down thing. I have verified it! If it can vape this way when used the normal way...then its not such a bad device. You have to find a very potent flavor to enjoy this. Some flavors work well such as menthol and the cherry type flavors. My problem is that those flavors are not for me. I am aware of the many menthol and cherry type lovers out there. This may be for you. Regarding the leaks and the atty problems... I had those too. Got a replacement right away. So far so good. Flavor wise and performance...just the same. Oh...the throat hit? You get some. Its a totally different kind of TH. Can't be compared with the 510s and the 801s. The hit is rounder. Rannie If you are a PV collector... thats a different story. |

It's been my experience if you care for your pipe, and run it through its cleaning cycle every couple of weeks it will give you lots of life. Keep your manual and dont drop or bang it around alot.

Basically for the price of the atomizer you get the entire pipe without carts, jewel cap, batteries, or charger. The $20 difference is what you pay for those components. The atty seems to be built like a tank. I am a believer. The 601 is a good pipe. | |

the 601 is good...it could be great if it had cheap, dedicated screw in atomisers. as it is its a needlessly expensive, wasteful design. |

Went ahead and ordered one of these for the hell of it. Will post my first impressions and followups in the coming weeks.
