Exclamation Hi Def Review of DSE801 With USB Pass Thru From E-CIGS.CO.UK

Hi all,

here is my latest review and its now in High Definition! though you will only benefit from watching it in HD if you have a high spec PC stolen from NASA! to watch it in HD you will need to click on the screen after pressing the play button, and then click "watch in HD" at the bottom right hand corner.
its my 1st time of recording with my new HD camera and also the 1st time ive edited with my new video editing software.......so i would be gratefull if you could let me know what you think with regards to sound, picture quality, music and effects.

it didnt come out quite as in focus as what i know it can be, but like i said it was the 1st time of use and will improve with more practise! (i hope!)

oh, the review is of a stainless steel DSE801 with USB pass thru from www.e-cigs.co.uk by the way! it is fantastic!!!

ive changed the way i score my reviews now. i normally just mark it out of 10 for how much i like it and would recommend it but felt that it might give a more accurate score if i break it down a little in a "leaford stylee".

so now i will have marks out of 10 for things such as:-

1. appearance
2. vapour produced
3. throat hit
4. battery life
5. reliability

i will then add up the totals and divide by the number of catagories to give an average overall score.

i would also just like to make 2 things very clear:-

1. i only tend to review products that i like and would happily recommend to others (which is why my reviews tend to get high scores!!)........simply because i get sent lots of stuff to review and dont have time to record reviews for everything! (i do purchase e-cig stuff as well though!) also, after doing a review i tend to get sent a LOT of youtube messages, emails and forum private messages asking questions on the product. ive never been the sort of guy who can ignore someone who is polite to me so i always reply..........this then leads to me answering close to over a hundred to two hundred emails a week..........again, its very time consuming!

2. very important!! when i score my reviews i score them based on the type of e-cig im reviewing.
so if im reviewing a super mini, my score out of 10 would be based on all super minis.

so therefore, a super mini with a score of 8 out 10 does not necessarily mean that its better than a pen style with the same score out of 10.

hope that makes sense!??

cheers guys n gals,

i would appreciate your input!

scott

Nice review Scott. I thought you'd like the penstyle once you had a go with one.

Anyhow I've got the Midnyte from them rather than the silver one, although the silver looks pretty nice too. I've got the white one as well, but I love the black one.

Here's mine with its USB passthrough. Great for sitting here on the sofa as my computer's just to the left of me so I can vape away on it while I'm on here.

yeah, i like the black version as well! very nice!

the thing that surprised me the most about the 801 was the size and weight. it was not a long as i had imagined and feels very light indeed.........im certain it weighs less than some super minis!

Default A Gas Guzzler Indead

Scott--LOL "A GAS GUZZLER" indeed--but well worth the ride, as the Pen, in my opinion it can not be matched saved for the Screwdiver and the SD is a pain as you have to keep filling er up!!! That is why I always avocate the Penstyle for those comming off heavy smoking and going to vaping--Thanks for the review---Sun

I see your point about the length of the USB lead as well Scott, but I also bought one of these from them

Mains USB Adapter (Black) [USB_MAINS] - £7.49 : E-Cigs.co.uk, Online Store

That's brilliant. Just plug your passthrough into it and then plug the unit into a socket. You're then vaping off the mains! Quality.

Great review, as always, thanks!

I got one of these yesterday and I love it! I started with the EVO (after your review, LOL ), then decided to try the DSE901 as everyone here said what a great starter cig it was. I initially preferred the EVO, then began to prefer the 901 as I found it easier to draw on and have had some problems with the EVO batteries. I then got fed up with having to top off all the time and thought I'd try the penstyle as it's bigger although I prefer the idea of an e-cig that looks like a cig.

I got the kit in platinum, like yours, and a USB passthrough and an extra battery and atomiser, so I've effectively got one in two different rooms. I thought that if I like it, I can always get more atoms and batteries later. I do feel a bit silly looking with an e-cig attached to a wire but I use in in my office where nobody sees me

Like I said, I LOVE it! I also find it very smooth to the touch, feels like satin to me, and very smooth and easy to vape from. As for that HUGE cart, I too fell over at the sight of it! The wool inside is also massive, tightly filling the entire cart, which those in the 901 and EVO don't, although I don't know if the size or type of wool makes any difference.

By the way, the box for the kit is gorgeous too. A sort of golden brown with a crazed pattern on it. The lid flops down and over and is closed by magnets, so it's easy to flip open and close. Very solid box and the sort one might keep for storing stuff in.

Also, e-cigs.co.uk sell 2m extension leads for the USB. Might that help you, Scott, for making it longer? You'll find it under their e-specials section.

yeah, nice review starlight........are you trying to do me out of a job! LOL

yep, huge carts but i didnt find that they lasted too long considering, which is why i described it as a gas guzzler. and yeah, the wool inside the carts is of tampon proportions! lol

i will take a look at the usb accessories as i quite like the sound of plugging into the mains as badseed suggested and i wouldnt mind the extra length too for when im on the xbox!

Love the description of the wool - perfect ! Well, even though I bought it in the hope it would be the opposite of a gas guzzler, I still love it as it feels just great and is so smooth and consistent - well, for the 1 or 2 days I've had it, that is. Now I know why many of the "pros" here prefer it above all others.
