    In March we started introducing our staff on our blog and feel it is time that we start introducing them to you all here as well. It is always nice to put a face to those who work so hard to help our customers and keep you all vaping happily and safely. From now on we will add them here as we select them each time, for now we will post the first five that we have at this time.

    Meet James

    If you have ever called our Customer Service phone line, chances are you have talked with our Online Customer Service Manager, James Phillips. James has been a VOLCANO eCigs employee for almost 2 years now and a fan of the product for even longer. With the love for the product and passion to help others, James found himself in the perfect position. Get to know the man on the other side of the phone.

    How did you start vaping?
    Well, my mom needed an alternative to smoking because she was going to get a bypass. That's when we started looking. We found another eCig company and purchased from them. About a month later we found Volcano Fine Electronic Cigarettes where we (my mom and I) got our INFERNO Kits and never looked back.

    How long has it been since you've had an analog?
    For both my mom and I, it has been 2 1/2 years.

    Since working with VOLCANO eCigs, what changes have you seen within the company?
    Growth! VOLCANO eCigs has grown tremendously since I started in all areas. Regardless of how much the company grew, we were still able to keep that small business Ohana feel.

    What was your most rewarding moment?
    Honestly, there have been so much for me while working in the Customer Service Department. My favorite moments would be when I am able to make that upset customer happy by the end of the call just by giving them the guidance they need to fixing their issue.

    In your own words, what would you say customers enjoy most about VOLCANO eCigs Customer Service?
    I think that our customers enjoy and appreciate our extended efforts in resolving their issues as well as our understanding of what they are going through with being vapers ourselves.

    What is your current set-up?
    Although I enjoy Mods & Variable Voltage & Wattage devices, I have fallen in love with the performance of the INFERNO with the INFERNO BCT TubeTank. Even with having a hand in the development of the INFERNO BCT TubeTank, I can say unbiased that it provides the best flavor and volume of vapor that I have experienced in any other INFERNO system.

    What VOLCANO eLiquid do you always go back to?
    I find myself going back to both Jungle Fruit (Flavor of the Week) and Shaka Strawberry. The flavor of our Jungle Fruit eLiquid is almost spot on with on of my favorite gums and the Shaka Strawberry eLiquid flavor reminds me of these little strawberry candies my Grandmother would give us when we came over to visit her.     Any juicy perks you can tell us about?
    Oh yes! I get to test out all the new eLiquid flavors and products.

    Where do you see/hope the future of the electronic cigarette industry going?
    I see the electronic cigarette industry growing and evolving as well as educating people more about the products.

    What do you see happening to VOLCANO?
    I see VOLCANO continuing it’s growth. I also can see VOLCANO taking a lead in fighting for our rights, as Vapers, to continue to use eCig products as a smoking alternative.

    Meet John

    Our dedication to innovation is our passion. Crafting new products and providing the industry with performance breakthroughs and quality standards requires the right people. Luckily for us, our staff is one of a kind. Let's meet some of the brains behind the VOLCANO Fine Electronic Cigarettes research and development team.

    How did you start vaping?
    My wife and I were looking for a smoking alternative to use while traveling to California and while spending time with our family there. Although it was not our intentions to quit or continue to use en eCig, we did and both quit within months!

    How long has it been since you've had an analog?
    For me it has been 1 year and 3 months.

    Since working with VOLCANO eCigs, what changes have you seen within the company?
    There has been tremendous growth throughout the whole company. Everything from the products moving from mainstream to specialty to growth and organization within the company.

    What was your most rewarding moment?
    Although I have had a lot of rewarding moments working in the Customer Service Department, RMA Department and the Product Development Department, my most rewarding moment was seeing an idea straight from our company transform into an amazing product on shelves and loved by many. Not only was it something I truly felt out performed anything else sold in a beginners starter kit but we are all very proud of it and use it daily ourselves! And the great reviews from well known online eCig reviewers helped that moment become even more rewarding.

    What does it take to be a Product Development Specialist?
    As a Product Development Specialist, my job is to find out what our customers want, do research as to how and if we can develop what the customers want and work directly with my team turn our idea into a safe, functional and quality product. We are constantly reviewing our products, identifying improvements and their causes and finding solutions through research and testing. Although I have had my fair share of frustrating situations, this job has fueled my passion for vaping. With that being said, passion for the industry, patience, attention to detail and creativity is needed.

    In your own words, what would you say customers enjoy most about VOLCANO eCigs?
    As a customer turned employee, I think customers appreciate that we have moved away from the norm of the e-cigarette industry and are putting something different on the shelf. We do also have one of the best warranties in the e-cigarette industry.

    What is your current e-cigarette set-up?
    I am currently using The INFERNO battery and INFERNO BCT TubeTank set up because it has the cleanest and most flavorful taste you can get in a smaller and compact e-cigarette.

    What VOLCANO eLiquid do you always go back to?
    My all time favorite VOLCANO eliquid would have to be Sweet Tart not only because it is great but also because it's spot on to the candy Sweet Tarts. Perfect for my sweet tooth.

    Any juicy perks you can tell us about?
    The biggest perk for me would have to be all the time VOLCANO has given me to further my education as a Product Development Specialist and therefore develop in my current position. Not only is this benefiting my position but I have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.

    Where do you see/hope the future of the electronic cigarette industry going?
    I'd like to see all vendors adopt strict quality manufacturing proceeders and an elevated standard. We put a lot of effort into ensuring all our devices and eliquid are the best that can be produced. We also want to keep pushing the envelope for innovation. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a VOLCANO eCigs device designed here in Hawaii leave our doors into the market. I enjoy seeing all the feedback from our customers and most of all, all the vapor.

    What do you see happening to VOLCANO?
    With VOLCANO already keeping up with all of the bills and laws in regards to e-cigarette production and eCig use, I see us positioning to become a pioneer and forerunner of the e-cigarette industry as it grows over time.

    Meet Scottie


    Customer service is one of our number one priorities. Whether you're a customer calling in to our CS Team or walking in to one of our many locations- we always want to make sure you have the best experience possible. Meet Scottie. He started out as a Sales Associate and worked his way up to the Manager at our Windward Mall on the island of Oahu. Get to know a little more about Scottie and his journey with VOLCANO eCigs so far.

    How did you start vaping?
    I actually did not start vaping until my first day of work with VOLCANO eCigs on March 5th of 2012. And to my surprise, I made the switch immediately and never looked back! The fact that I had been smoking half a pack of cigarettes a day for 10 years prior baffled me and just heightened my passion for eCigs and sharing as well as helping people make the switch for themselves or their loved ones.

    Since working with VOLCANO eCigs, what changes have you seen within the company?
    Throughout my two years with VOLCANO, I have seen the entire company evolve. Everything from the tools we use in daily operations to the professionalism of the company as a whole has morphed into such a functional yet enjoyable environment with that same Ohana feeling I had when I first started.

    What was your most rewarding moment?
    While I was working at the kiosk one day, a man's daughter came up to me and asked me about our product. She continued to ask me a few questions and also told me that she wanted her dad to make the switch. After I answered all of her questions, she walked away. Two years later this same girl and her father came back to thank us because he had at that point made the switch to vaping.

    In your own words, what would you say customers enjoy most about VOLCANO eCigs?
    I believe our customers enjoy the fact that we remember them when they come back, that they learn something new every time they stop by and also because we genuinely want to help them with whatever it is they need help with at the moment.

    What is your current e-cigarette set-up?
    Although I enjoy and use all of the products VOLCANO has to offer, my favorite set-up is our LAVATUBE v2.5 with our 7ml Tube Tank. I just really like the flavor I get from this set-up and also like cartomizers.

    What VOLCANO eLiquid are you vaping right now?
    I actually created an eliquid mix of my own called Fruit Suicide. It includes Hula Punch, Peleís Papaya, Pearadise, Shaka Strawberry, Halawa Guava, Maui Mango, Kawikaís Kiwi and Mauna Dew all portioned to taste.

    What are the highlights of working for VOLCANO eCigs?
    One of the biggest highlights about working with VOLCANO eCigs would have to be that I, as an employee, feel appreciated. Itís nice to know that if I had a suggestion in regards to the companyís operation or products, I could actually talk to the owners who would take me seriously and consider my suggestion instead of sending me to their secretary for them to take a message to hopefully pass on to them. I feel like a valued employee on the daily.

    Meet Hina

    We want all of our customers to walk out of our locations having experienced quality customer service and an overall great experience. But how do we ensure that all of our staff is properly trained to do so? Meet Hina. She started out as a Sales Associate at our Wahiawa Vapor Lounge & Cafť and worked her way up to our Lead Staff Trainer with her amazing customer service skills and great ability to train others to exude just that.

    Why did you apply for a position at VOLCANO eCigs?
    Although I was currently employed at Ala Moana as a Sales Associate in a nearby store, my main goal was to work for VOLCANO eCigs. So, I walked up to the Ala Moana kiosk and asked how I could apply. They gave me the info on applying, I applied and got hired!

    Was it hard for you to make the switch?
    I smoked 1 Ė 2 packs of traditional cigarettes a day for 6 years prior to working for VOLCANO eCigs. I got my first electronic cigarette starter kit the day I started working for VOLCANO eCigs and by the end of the day made the switch to exclusively vaping! So to answer the question, it was extremely easy.

    Whatís different about working at VOLCANO eCigs versus any other job youíve had?
    A lot actually. Iíve developed amazing friendships with the people I work with, Iím excited to come to work on a daily basis and donít ever want to leave! VOLCANO eCigs is like a big Ohana (family) where like stitch says, ďNo one gets left behind.Ē Everyone is always willing to lend a helping hand regardless of the job and itís common to see employees hanging out at the cafť instead of running away after their shifts.

    Since working with VOLCANO eCigs, what changes have you seen within the company?
    Within the year Iíve been with VOLCANO eCigs, Iíve seen many change from operations to the products we offer but the changes that pop out the most would have to be our growth in retail locations, our product quality and development and also that there are always new opportunities.

    What was your most rewarding moment?
    Although being able to help people make the switch to vaping and becoming so much more knowledgeable with eCigs are very rewarding, I would have to say that my most rewarding moment was when I was promoted to Lead Staff Trainer. It felt honored to know that my work is appreciated.

    Whatís your go to e-cigarette set-up and e-liquid?
    I love my LAVATUBE v2.5 e-cig device and Tube Tank filled with Halawa Guava! No matter what other device or eliquid I use I always come back to this.

    In your opinion, what makes VOLCANO eCigs standout amongst the crowd?
    We are a local company that stands by our product and we genuinely love our customers. A lot of customers are surprised to find that VOLCANO Fine Electronic Cigarettes is a company based in Hawaii and created by 2 local guys. But they keep coming back because we stand by the quality of our product and genuinely want to help everyone that walks through our doors.

    Meet Kelli

    Our selection of e-Cigarette Starter Kits and accessories has grown tremendously since we started in 2009 to fit the needs of all types of Vapers. Everything from electronic cigarette devices to the colorful accessories and e-liquid flavors you use with them. With all of these amazing choices of e-cig devices and accessories, we needed an organized and driven individual who strived for perfection to help control our wide variety of products. Meet Kelli. With her love for numbers and detail, she worked her way from a Sales Associate to our Inventory Count Specialist within the 2 years she has been with us.

    Prior to becoming an employee with VOLCANO eCigs, how did you hear of the company?
    On a normal basis, I would drive by the Kapahulu VOLCANO Vapor Cafť & Lounge. I was very curious as to what this cafť was all about and always wanted to check it out. I did finally have the chance when I came in for my interview.

    Why did you apply for a position at VOLCANO eCigs?
    Although I was already an ex smoker by the time I applied for a position at VOLCANO eCigs, I was and still am in support of anyone trying to find an alternative. With a lot of my friends being smokers, I was more than eager to find an alternative for all of them. In the midst of all of this, I happened to see a job posting for a Sales Associate at the Kapahulu VOLCANO Vapor Cafť & Lounge. I got extremely excited because I had been so intrigued by this place every time I drove by and immediately applied. Within the week, I became apart of the VOLCANO eCigs Ohana.

    Whatís your favorite e-cigarette device and e-liquid?
    I have fallen in love with our newly released INFERNO BCT Tank System! So to answer your questions, my favorite e-cig would be the INFERNO with the INFERNO BC TubeTank along with my all time favorite Cotton Candy eliquid. Such great flavor and vapor production!

    Being a new Vaper, was it difficult to learn the inís and outís of the ecig?
    Not at all, our e-cig devices look like they would be difficult to use but they are very user friendly. I was able to learn how to properly use the products and maintain them very quickly. Although being new to vaping, I took a little longer learning the terminology used in the Vaping Community.

    What keeps you excited about working for VOLCANO eCigs?
    I love that there has never been a dull moment within the 2+ years Iíve worked for VOLCANO eCigs. With starting as a Sales Associate, being promoted to a Store Manager and then taking the position as the Inventory Count Specialist, I have seen and experienced many sides of the company. Weíre always looking for ways to make current policies, products, and services better to enhance the experience of our customers. It may be hard to believe that I can be excited about being an Inventory Count Specialist but I love to keep things organized and in order.

    What is it like to be a VOLCANO eCigs employee?

    As an employee, I truly feel like I am a part of the company versus working for the company. Instead of doing what is expected of me, I strive to do more and do it better because I feel appreciated. Since working for VOLCANO eCigs, Iíve developed lifetime friendships and experiences that Iím sure I would never have had the chance to have otherwise. If you ask any employee to sum up how it feels to work here, they would all say Ohana.

    How did you first hear about VOLCANO eCigs?

    I actually heard about VOLCANO e-Cigs from a couple of friends that had made the switch to vaping. I also knew some of the employees at the Pearlridge kiosk that always raved about how they loved working for VOLCANO eCigs. Soon enough, my friend told me there was an opening at the Pearlridge kiosk so I applied right away and got the position!

    As a new Vaper, how was the learning curve for the e-cigarette?

    Being a cook prior to working with VOLCANO, I was a bit intimidated with all of the different products. But starting at the Pearlridge kiosk, one of our busiest locations at the time, I was thrown into the fire so to say, which actually helped me learn about the products very quickly. It also helped that all of our products are beginner friendly.

    Since you are now a confirmed Vapeaholic, how do you rock your vape?

    I usually switch between my many colors of LAVATUBEs throughout the week matched with one of my many drip tips. But during football season I make sure I rep my teamís colors Ė green and yellow. Go Packers!

    Since being with VOLCANO for about 3 years, have you become a licensed Mixologist yet?

    Iím not licensed but have been known to create some amazing concoctions. My personal favorite would have to be a mixture of Pearadise, Lolo Lime and Shaka Strawberry. Iím thinking about naming it Stra-lolo-dise.

    Off the clock, do you find yourself sharing your experience with vaping and helping others make the switch?

    All the time. Since working here, Iíve seen countless positive outcomes of people making the switch and have even had people come in just to hug us. Itís hard not to help or share. Iíve even helped just about my whole family make the switch to vaping too!

    What has been your most rewarding moment so far?

    Although there have been a ton, I would have to say my most rewarding moment was when I became the first ever employee to receive the award as the Top Salesman in the company.

    What about VOLCANO eCigs has kept you here as an employee so long?

    Starting as a Sales Associate about 3 years ago and now being the Manager of the VOLCANO Vapor Lounge & Cafť in Ewa, Iíve grown a lot as an individual and learned so much. Much more than a pay raise or bonus, VOLCANO has given me self-development, as well as some awesome relationships along the way. Iím happy to come into work everyday not only because of the VOLCANO Ohana I work with, but also because I feel very accomplished at the end of everyday.

    Being a loyal customer for about a year, Sadie saw that VOLCANO eCigs was more than an e-cigarette manufacturer but also a way of life. She made it a point to be a part of this lifestyle and is now one of our dedicated and hard-working Managers helping others make the switch on a daily basis. With her own experience of making the switch unexpectedly, she finds joy in helping others do the same. Get to know Sadie a little more as we go one on one with her and chat about her adventure so far with VOLCANO eCigs.


    As a customer turned employee, what enticed you to apply at VOLCANO eCigs?

    There are many reasons why I applied here at VOLCANO eCigs but only two that pushed me to do so. First, I already was using and fell in love with the products specifically from VOLCANO eCigs. The products have great quality and the performance is top notch. Second, I wanted to help other people make the switch to vaping.


    How was your transition when making the switch to vaping as a customer?

    I was actually a hardcore smoker that smoked about 1-Ĺ packs of traditional cigarettes a day and wasnít looking for an alternative. My brother-in-law convinced me to try it and the rest is history.

    The transition was a lot smoother than I thought which surprised me seeing that I wasnít even looking to make the switch. Within a week I completely weaned myself off of analog cigarettes, which saved me a lot of money.


    Now that there are more e-cig companies within the eCig Industry, what makes VOLCANO eCigs stick out of the crowd?

    Our customer service tops all other companies out there. We have free maintenance checks, our in-store eliquid sampling is sanitary and our battery warranty is better than most.


    What is your most rewarding moment so far?

    About a year ago, a group of 4 people came into the Kapahulu Cafť while I was working as the Sales Associate, 2 of them were brother and sister. All 4 of them were coming to find out more about our product and hopefully start their journey to making the switch together. But the sister was very hesitant which almost caused the whole group to walk out before even starting. They all ended up leaving with their own LAVATUBEís and a year later, even after half of them relocated, they have become regulars at the cafť and to our online storeóall happy they didnít walk out empty handed that day.
    Being an employee for more than a year and many more to come, what has kept you happy as an employee of VOLCANO e-Cigs?

    What keeps me happy and always striving to do my best would have to be the appreciation. I always feel appreciated whether it is from my fellow employees, direct supervisor or the owners of the company.
