Default What meds did you have reactions to?

Allergies, just adverse reactions, meds that messed with your other meds?
I am wondering if we have any common problems and if they are widespead. Maybe it's just me
Also do any of you wear a medical alert bracelet or necklace? I am thinking of getting one, for diabetes and allergies.
I am allergic to Cefotan, but I only have to worry when in the hospital as that's the only place I would get it. It gives me the whole allgergy thing..hives, closed throat, swelling..not fun.
I also have a problem with Cipro, it makes me violenty ill. Demerol makes me cry, until it is out of my system, I mean nonstop! They never believe me, until it happens, so now I just say I am allergic.

    Default The Cure

Hi Mary Kay, I don't know if you saw the past post on this forum about the Canadian man who recently discovered the cure for diabetes and many other diseases, and also gets rid of pharmaceutical reactions and allergies, and has hundreds of testimonials from cured patients along with many valid scientific research results that this may be true ( Google them ) ... You should watch this video and judge for yourself. It looks true to me. Click on the You Tube title words on top of this video window to go directly to the You Tube page and auto play all parts...

I found out I was allergic to seafood and iodine when I had a contrast catscan. My throat closed up and I began itching everywhere. Edema started followed by hives...I was saved by epinephrine x2. My doctor explained that I most likely had a reaction as a child and avoided seafood unconsciously. Because of the massive reaction I had to the dye if I'm ever given it again...I could go into shock. I don't wear a bracelet but I carry a allergy alert card with my license and donor info right next to my insurance card.

Hi MaryKay! I'm diabetic and dropped some good coin med id braclets but don't wear any of them. I know I should, if I'm in a car accident or something they need to know I'm on metformin and glimepiride. There's actually some really nice stuff out there, I'm just uncomfortable wearing any jewelry except earrings. I know I could get used to it if I really tried tho.

There's some really nice bracelets out there tho. Actually I'm on enough meds that I should probably have the wallet card. Just get the bracelet that says 'see wallet card.'

I've had a couple really huge hive outbreaks to something in advil cold and sinus. It wasn't the advil b/c I take that fine all the time. Other pills are fine. It was something specific to the dye or something in the capsules. Still haven't identified it but at least it was only hives.

Also I don't do well on the opiates like codiene. They make me paranoid delusional. Can't sleep or anything, to worried about being caught by whoever is chasing me. Not fun!

I never told anyone I was allergic to ....... until after I had to have a broken nose fixed and they packed it with coke and had to keep me in the hospital overnight because I got so sick. Now when medical people see ....... on my allergy list they always ask me if I mean codeine. Nope!

Demerol too....gives me a massive headache....and landed me in the hospital overnight another time.

Cipro makes me insane, literally crazed. Allergic to most other antibiotics too, have a wallet card. Hope the right people read it if there's ever an emergency!

I was told that if I was allergic to cefotan, then I couldn't be allergic to demerol or Cipro..why not?
Just because they are different drug classes doesn't mean I am not sensitive to them.
Sometimes I think some of the medical profession is nuts.

I had to stop Abilify after a bit more than 3 weeks due to a common side effect for people with major depressive disorders apparently: 'akathisia'.
Well I am glad I had to stop that in fact. Just reading the possible side effects can cause a panic attack...

I hope I can find some medications to lower or even stop xanax during the day as I have to take up to 5mg (equivalent of 100mg of Valium...).

Fred, Does xanax make you groggy? I have a friend who tried it and she said she couldn't stay awake. It also made her think some crazy thoughts..or dreams, she doesn't know which.

It's been a long time xanax or other benzodiazepines don't have any side effects on me.
It's true the first time you take such meds you will feel groggy.
After many years of taking those it just lower anxiety and avoid having panic attacks.
But those benzodiazepines are bad for memory and are not intended to be taken for such a long time (10+ years now).
Crazy thoughts/dreams ? no, never in my case.

This may be slightly off the "meds" lists, but did you all see this Thread?
    Now I've seen everything !
This is just too much, hilarius and frightening! Please, people, keep checking those ingredient lists on your juices, it could save your life!!
I think the Rick Simpson story has some merit. At least, not to be ignored!
