Please...prayers, good vibes, whatever-you-call-it
I've not posted before about my medical stuff; mainly, because I wanted at least one place where I could forget about it for a while.
I am now because my SocSec disability hearing has finally been scheduled!!!! I just had a call about an hour ago from my attorney's office. October 15. It's been a long 24 months getting here.
I've been soooooooooo stressed out, worrying about it all. Well, all of that built-up nervousness and stress has released itself since the call...I'm literally shaking.
There is no guarantee that I'll get it...I have fibromyalgia (plus a bunch of a little crap), and although it's recognized, it's not one of those "givens." The one thing that might work against me is that I've been using the Veterans Hospital for my medical care the past two years. They've refused to complete the paperwork sent by my attorney -- apparently Social Security won't reimburse the VA for the time it takes...you just gotta love the government sometimes. But, I recently talked to a patient advocate who will make sure that all involved with my care will complete their patient progress notes within the proper guidelines.
So...I'm here asking for your prayers, thoughts, good vibes, whatever that my VA doctors comply (I have an appt on Sept 17 thankfully) and my hearing goes well.

Sodoku, You will have my Prayers winging their way skyward! That is of course if my Soul is in the good books! LOL If not I will get someone to intercede for me on your behalf.
I hope things go in your favor. I sure they must! Make sure you stay on the advocates radar!

Sudoku...SSD is such a PITA!!! But hang in there. I, too, have fibromyalgia plus assundry other things. I applied for SSD on my own a year ago around July and was, of course, denied. Hired an atty and he gathered info and submitted to SS. Before a hearing was even set, I got approved by an SS attorney. I understand what a relief it is to finally have your case moving forward. I'll say a prayer for you, and I feel sure that you will get some help.
But remember, life is a sexually transmitted disease that is 100% fatal.--cappadoc

Sodoku - I'm sending positive waves of prayers your way. I don't understand the selectiveness criteria that SSD has. Doesn't make sense to me that you have to fight them to state your case that you have a disability.

Sodoku,
I will lift a prayer up for you. I went through the same thing with my husband, turned down the first time he applied but after he retained an attorney, he was given the SSD. Crossing fingers and toes, too. (It can't hurt)!

Thank you all. I've finally calmed down even though I know I'll be back and forth on the feelings between now and the hearing. BTW, I think I have the 'wrong' attorney...I chose him because I knew someone who had used him. But, as with so many things, you don't know until it's too late. I just hope it steps up to it at the hearing. I've had fibromyalgia since my early 40s and continue working in spite of it...but, I just can't do it anymore.
Again, thanks.

Thanks Kel.
I talked to my former boss today...she is willing to be a witness at the hearing, so that is good.
