    Default AA Flashlight Battery Springs?

I've been buying AA flashlights at the dollar store just for their springs. Does anyone know of a supplier that I could use to get a bunch of those springs by themselves? Other than calling them "battery springs" or "flashlight springs", what else could they be called so I can do a search?
    Thank you.

Googling "Battery contact spring" and "battery compression spring" both return lots of hits for companies making them. I didn't dig through 'em to find retails but I'm sure there must be some (if I had more time I'd look further but I can't tonight).

If you (or anyone) finds a retail site I'd also like to know!

Have you tried industrial supply companies like Mcmaster-Carr or Grainger? Both carry a very large variety of springs, I am sure you can find something that will work for your needs. I cant post links yet so just google them to get to their website. I prefer Mcmaster-Carr, they have great prices, great customer service and everything shipps fed-ex next day.

I checked on Mcmaster-Carr's site. Yes, thank you, they have them... but they are close to $6 each without shipping! I think I'll stick to the dollar store.
    Thank you.

I'm sorry, I really thought they would be cheaper than that. I did a search for conical compression springs, and came up with several dealers some with online ordering. Reid supply company had them for as low as .80 cents each, But I wasn't sure what size your looking for.

Thanks. I'll have to check them out.

you will probably find the dollar store to be the cheapest for the small quanities im sure you would be buying. unless you are planning to go into the retail biz selling them.

If you have an Ace hardware near you, they may have them. I picked some up just yesterday at my local Ace.

I also just found some springs easy at Radio Shack...look for their battery housings..they are like $1 and just pull them out of the housing. You can get whatever size you need..I grabbed a "D" size for my 18650.
