We have nothing to match those here, there just isn't the money to reach the production quality - well, maybe in some period dramas, you must watch Cranford if you get the chance: so unsensational, and super acting. And they nearly all talk proper

lol-- I was the first one to write a review of Cranford on the Amazon US [/URL]site! I loved it! I also just got Larkrise to Candleford season 2 in the mail last week, but haven't had a chance to view it yet!

    Cranford was fantastic!

Speaking of period dramas, though-- I loved the 1995 Pride and Prejudice. That was just wonderful-- perfect, really. Also the newer Sense and Sensibility-- I loved that, too. Of course, Alan Rickman was missing, but it was still very good!

And, oh gosh. .. my all time favorite? It was Mayor of Casterbridge with Ciaran Hinds! Oh, that was so so so good. I just loved that. Have you seen that? So sad, but so wonderful. That has to be my all-time favorite British drama. But, I really liked so many others, too.

Ciaran Hinds is a funny looking fellow but he's attractive at the same time - and a super actor But I missed the Mayor of Casterbridge - that's something to look forward to when it's repeated (I don't usually buy DVDs, but you've tickled my taste-buds ).

Larkrise is less cerebral (for want of a better word, I'm always having to use the one that comes to mind rather than the truly appropriate one) than Cranford, but I did enjoy it - took me a while.

Re Deadwood, Mary, my heart-throb in that was Timothy Olyphant - I nearly died of palpitations I've seen him in something else and he was good and lovely but didn't "send" me (coo, that's an old expression) like his Deadwood persona did. It doesn't happen very often these days... maybe Ewan McGregor's smile sometimes.

I thought Molly Parker was a find, I even checked her out because she reminded me of the lovely Eleanor Parker, but no relation.
