That is too cute -- I wish my local store would host "tastes" from other countries.
I would skip the frozen pizza -- they all taste like cardboard. I would also skip the wine -- the California wines I have tried seem kind of watery in taste.
Looks like the muffins, chips and popcorn might be good, and the cheese & onion baguettes, and chicken dippers. The American Style Mini Snacks remind me of something one would get out of a vending machine at a gas station.

Boy that doesn't say much for what us Americans have invented as far as food goes, now does it. Kinda sad really. I started thinking of things they should have included and caught myself going, no that is German, no that is Italian. Geesh, we really have some work to do when it comes to American food.

Very cute that your store is having an ethnic day though, wish ours would do that. LOL

haha, that's too funny. I would definitely go with the pizza ... but I love all frozen pizzas just as much as an authentic delish pizza from up north

I agree on the Pizza, that is my biggest weakness.... I can't have a pizza in my house or around me and not eat it. Breaks the diet every time.

Wow, that's what American food is. It all looks a bit adventurous to me. I agree with Erised's suggestions and comments. I do wonder about the hot dog sausages. If they are hot dogs I'm curious as to why they are packaged in a jar. That makes them look more like cocktail wieners which are very different in flavor. Also the description says they are good hot or cold. I personally never heard of eating a hot dog cold.

Not sure what hamburger sauce is. Is that maybe like the stuff McD's puts on Big Macs maybe?

I am not at all familiar with this brand so I couldn't say for sure. I would think honey roasted almonds would be a pretty safe bet.

You have to try a cold hotdog, I love them that way. Not jarred hot dogs of course, those are completely different. In my opinion, eating a cold hotdog is a lot like bologna.

Huh. That makes a lot of sense! Though I don't put ketchup or mustard on bologna. Maybe mayo? Thanks for the tip!

    What a great thread Scylla!
Crisps are potato chips..but BEEF chili chips? Yuck! Texas chili doesn't sound wonderful either! Get them to get some BBQ chips..those I like.
Hot dog or a sausage..not both! And never in a jar.
Honey and mustard salad dressing? That's what you might put on ribs for a BBQ! Hamburger sauce..is that mayonaise?
Stuff sure gets lost in the translation. BTW where are the buns for the hot dogs?
We have German week and Italian week at our supermarket. I wonder what the Germans and Italians would think of what they offer? Why don't we have an English week?
