Okay, I'll give the ground turkey a try your way. I tried meatballs with it once, not so good. Tasted like cardboard even with all the spices I added. Then dumped them in some soup for fake Italian Wedding Soup. Even that didn't help them. Oh, just hit me, it was ground turkey breast. Ground turkey has some good parts in it doesn't it? Now I know why it was $1.99 for 2lbs!

Don't do the breast-it dries out to quickly

But you can-each phase is for a short period of time and these foods get phased back in in limited quantities! If I can do this-you can do it too!

I'm with you Fudgey on the starches, I love them, don't know if I could do it, but many have had success. HzG8rGrl is just one of millions! But, I would go back to them you see. Especially in the winter time, mashed potatoes and gravy, potato soup, I'll stop there. I must find the will power to try!

Found this healthy recipe for brownies since you like chocolate. I have not tried them though:

Eat what you want in MODERATION. That is my down fall I never stop when I should. DH is going to help me with that. I also bout a smaller plate to eat on, that way it looks like you have more food that you actually do!

I'm the same way Fudgey. Especially when I come home from work. Don't hand me a bag of chips. All will be gone.

I'm going to work on cutting out some things and forcing myself to exercise a few minutes every night, no matter how unmotivated I am. I will feel better about myself. No DH to help enforce it here, so I am on my own. I keep trying, and keep stopping! Got to just get going until healthy life is a new addiction.

i'm so excited about this forum that i've been all over it the past few days and hope that you all don't mind if i join you here as well. my name is roni. i lost 40 lbs last year and regained 10. my partner lost 90 and regained 15. we are planning on starting again with purpose this next week. i would love to talk with others trying to improve their health and lose weight in the process. i like spark people, but since i can't access the community from my phone, i tend to slack on that site too heh.

sometimes, transitioning our foods is like transitioning from analogs to vaping. you can use the ground turkey [and yes, you want to use breast cuz it's the leanest] to replace a percentage of the ground beef that you would use in recipes. start small like 1/4 the first few times and slowly increase hope that helps
this year, i actually switched from reg mt dew to diet [which i swore that i would never do!] but i got tired of drinking more than the caloric intake i should get daily just in my drinks. i transitioned it the same as i described the turkey above. now, when i drink a regular one, it's still ooOOOOOoo so good but wayy sweet.

HzG8rGrl that's fantastic!! It's not something I'd be willing to do- I don't eat much meat, and get very mean without carbs. I love substituting the ceese for torilla shells and chips though. Cheese is one of my staple foods.

Hi Dandilionwings/Roni! Welcome!!! Glad you decided to join us here

Transitioning and changing lifestyle makes the most sense to me, cause small changes that add up over time is what tends to work for me.

My activity or the past couple of day shas been doing stuff around the house- but it was strenuous enough that i think it counts
