    Default Ladies.....let's get fit!!!

A very nice lady had a great idea for a new thread......so here it is! A thread for support, motivation and to keep ourselves in check. Even if you only need to get more exercise and eat healthier we can help each other.

    Thank you toto1013!!

My New Year's resolution is to lose weight. I want to hear what you do to lose weight and what exercise you do that helps you do that.

My start date is January 9th. My first goal is to lose 15lbs. No way am I saying how much I weigh

    What's your goal?

I want to get back to exercising regularly. It used to be an important part of my day- and I need to make time for it again

I need suggestions of things I can tell myself to help me keep from putting food in my mouth!!

I have tried the "you don't need it" that doesn't always work

Tried the "you are fat....don't eat it" my tummy takes over my brain

What if instead of eating something bad we replace with something healthy ( i.e carrots, apples, yogurt etc.) then we can share ideas, tips and recipes. So we can stay satisfied while being healthy.

So, maybe trying delaying. Say, I can have this, but let me do something else first. Then, afterward, if you still want it take only half. For me, saying "i can't have it" makes me cranky, annoyed and oppositional- and i feel deprived and want it more. The other thing that, for me, makes a real difference is activity level. My cravings change when I'm active- the voice of chocolate is not quite as loud then

Yeah I find when you exercize your mind gets into the eating healthy mode, like *well I don't wanna ruin all that hard work now with the super sized milky way bar *

I have found that buying the bite size 3 Musketeers bars and allowing myself one when I had the urge for chocolate worked really well. And not every five minutes at the most one a day. Depriving myself always seems to make the craving that much stronger.

I would be interested in participating in a get fit support group. My problem isn't food it's getting active. I have a torn knee that was only partially fixed by surgery. I take stairs one at a time. I can't stand for long periods and pretty much live in pain most of the time. I try my best to be active but it's hard with the pain. I use to run. I love it. I had a treadmill and the high I got from running was awesome. It improved my mood so much. Food is not a problem for me, I've never been a big eater. Anyways I have a wii fit that has some activities on it that are pretty good for low impact. Do any of you use a wii fit? Does anyone else have health issues that prevent you from being as active as you once were? Has anyone seen the show "sit and be fit" I use to think it was lame, but now I would love to do those exercises. I will never think something like that is lame again. I will never again take for granted health. I would love to hop up the stairs lickity split. I tore my knee because I slipped getting out of the bathtub. That one second mistake has changed my whole life. Be careful. Bathtubs are evil.
