Default Things We Do When Trying to Quit Smoking

    1. Stalk the cigarette counter: This action consists of circling the store, and repeatedly passing the cigarette sales counter trying not to buy cigarettes, but unable to convince yourself to go through the regular checkout and leave the store. Consequently it leaves you looking either utterly confused about what to buy, or like you are a stalker and the cashier is your fixation.

    2. Checking your unopened pack to make sure they're still there: In the struggle to refrain from smoking that pack of cigarettes, that you gave into buying after circling the cigarette counter like a vulture for a considerable length of time, you might find yourself frequently checking that it hasn't disappeared in the last 5-10 minutes since you last checked it. You might also find that while carrying in a bag you pat it frequently for the same reason.

    3. Dreaming sweaty erotic dreams of smoking that pack of cigarettes all by yourself, and reveling in every choking nicotine laden drag...ah divine.

    4. Spend every waking moment obsessed with the thought of smoking a cigarette, the memories of smoking a cigarette, and the jealousy of watching others puff away on the coveted stick of death.

This was all before I got my e-cig of course
Anyone else have any to add?

I do all of that and also check cig prices..while smiling to myself..makes me look demented!
I wash clean ashtrays.. a lot! Can we say Monk?
I am always startled when I see someone smoking in a movie (I have lots of pre-no smoking movies) Those people were a menace with all the smoke they generated!
I avoid smoking areas like the plague, I am afraid I might mug someone for their smokes!

LMAO I have to stand across our patio from my husband when he smokes so I don't try to steal his, forcibly since his is no longer willing to be complicit in my smoking (he's the one who offered me a cig a couple of months after I had my baby and got me started again). Good side is, I stare so hard at his cigs that he thinks I'm listening very intently to him lol.

I had the most vivid crazy dreams at the beginning when I quit and of course all symptoms listed in the list above.

Oh, kudos to you.... I would have never made it if someone else in my house still smoked. Being around smoke doesn't make me want one now, but it sure as heck did in the begining. My a** would have tanked then and there.

You would have loved it here! Mike and Mom both smoked! here I was trying to find a spot in the house they couldn't/didn't smoke in! Mike is down to half his normal intake of cigs, Mom is in the hospital and if she ever returns her (she will have to go to a nursing home for now as she can't swallow, walk and has dementia) she won't be allowed to smoke because she will be on oxygen. I have to say having a smoke free family room has helped. But when I go into Mike's bedroom it's like walking into a 50's movie..clouds are hanging over him!
Thank goodness it doesn't smell good to me anymore.

I stand real close to smokers - the second hand smoke still smells good to me. It doesn't make me want one - I just like the smell. My son still smokes and I when I try to stand down wind of him to smell his smoke he usually tries to fart. How did I raise such a disgusting child?

Before ecigs I would always notice other smokers, especially when driving a vehicle. Now I don't even look. I find that kinda strange. I guess as long as I have my ecig I am not jealous of smokers anymore.

I don't think that's just YOUR child Maryjo. I think all boys/men do that no matter how old they get. My husband does it and his mom is probably wonderin the same thing.

My Grandson's delight in embarrassing me with that! What is it with bodily functions?
