The only manual I have is the passthru. Use it from my laptop, and the pc at work. Doesn't seem to have as much power as a regular battery does. I plan on getting sealed manuals my next go round, because I hate killing them too!
I also plan to get the TW multi pack of attys. I won't be able to before their special is over, but even then, the multi pack price can't be beat and they have the low bridge atty from my understanding. Hoping that once I get these two items, I can stop sweating so much.
I also have the lingering fear that I won't be able to get spare batts and attys in time before the FDA does their thing. Seems like a given almost at this point so want to try to have my supplies lined up before hand so I can at least have what I need to wean off the whole thing if I have to!

OK, I'm a dumass, but I thought pass-throughs were for USB connections at the computer??? You can also use them in the car? Jeez, I'm the dimmest rocket scientist on the planet! And I don't drip anyway, so that's not a problem.
PS - I don't vape at my desk. Being a NASA facility, it's purely non-smoking. Vaping might be technically allowed, but I don't want to press my luck. I have no problem stepping to the ladies' room every couple of hours to vape in the stall. Nobody notices; nobody cares.

Ah, so there is an adapter. That explains a lot. I didn't know that. Thanks for heads-up! I'll have to check that out!

Wow, I just checked my supplies and found that I have an 801 USB passthrough. Yippee. I can use that in my car and my Janty or 501 at the computers.
I have a power inverter that plugs into the cig lighter plug and has two options- a regular wall plug (great for laptops and and USB port. (I'm always picking up stuff like that for hurricane prep) I'll have to check the power output before using.
Also, FYI, later model cars (foreign made???) often have a USB port in the center console box. Great feature for using a passthrough and/or playing an iPod through the cars speakers. This vaping can become very educational in addition to expensive! LOL

I invested in one of the battery mods and have ordered a second one because I am scared of not having a back-up. Knowing my luck I'd drop it and hubby would run over it with the car or something. It's more money up front, but will end up saving me money in the end. Since e-cig batteries average $13 each and I spent about $130 on my mod, including buying the batteries that fit and a charger for them, it will pay for itself in the amount of time I would go through 10 e-cig batteries. Plus the charge on my batteries lasts for 5-7 hours so I no longer worry about running out of charged batteries if I am out for the entire day. With a good supply of attys and enough unflavored nic juice to mix a years worth of liquid I am way less worried about a ban than I used to be.

[quote=surich;534559 does anyone else get frustrated or worn out, or just plain TIRED of it all?
Sue[/quote]
Lol YES! I have a life! I got really sick of it all and the time and expense when I was a little way into it. I really thought that it would be simply an exchange of one kind of cigarette for another. That expectation was what led to the frustration.
Its not just a simple switch, but then it wasn't a simple switch when I first got a PC either. I was writing for a living and loved my old yellow legal pads and mechanical pencil. It took a long time for a keyboard and a word program to replace that too. But in the same way as the ecigs, I was soon to discover that there were other advantages to the PC that the legal pad never had!
I decided to figure out what I really wanted from this new experience, and it divided into a few different things. I wanted a good solid no nonsense vape most of the work day, without having to stop and start and that meant a mod. Then I also wanted something that would give me that kick in the mornings and after lunch, and to enjoy a long slow "smoke" when I was relaxing, and I wanted to be able to "smoke" with my friends when I was out without fussing with equipment or standing out too far from the crowd.
After some trial and error I settled on the V1 for most of the time. No nonsense, no fuss no muss a solid 5 hours or more on one battery, and that little thing just sucks every last bit of juice out of a cart before it needs a refill. Nor did it look like I was sucking on a piece of plumbing.
For going out in the evening with friends, I still like a two part PV. Again its easy and looks a lot like a normal cigarette. A couple of spare batteries in a little case and I am set for the longest night out. Its also, for me, the best one for stealth vaping
Evenings with a good book or a movie, I still really enjoy my old 801..smooth as silk, and tons of vapor, and if I am doing nothing else I don't mind having to change the battery so often. Carts still last a long time.
I keep a 501 primed with a good cappuccino flavor that I like to hit at least twice a day, usually mornings and after lunch.
I like to change flavors at least a couple of times a day to keep my palette from getting numbed and not tasting them any more. I make my own juice and add flavors a drop or so at a time until I come up with a formula that I can really taste and enjoy, then I keep a batch on hand and write down the proportions just like any recipe so I can repeat it.
Expect it to take some time before you are truly in the swing of it, and be prepared to try some different things. Be patient with yourself, and in time it will settle down to be integrated into your life with little or no more effort than analogues, and a whole lot less expensive.
What you want from your vaping can be very different to what I want. As others have said, sometimes its a pass through that will fit the bill, but once you figure it out, you will be just fine.
Remember too all the other parts of the analogues, like emptying and washing out ashtrays, that you don't have with a PV. Its not all just light and go, there is work on the back end that you don't have with vaping.
One of my greatest pleasures is never having to empty out the car ashtray again..that was such a nasty fussy job!
Good luck with it all.

What doesn't work for you, there's a great Flea Market here! Like Barenetted said, when you find your perfect niche, it's a piece of cake and waaaaaaaaay cheaper than smoking, and a heck of a lot better all 'round!
