Its funny, my brother (has 6 kids now including stepkids) thinks its to much work to teach his kids to cook! He is NUTS! Sure at first it is, but Cody has been cooking for a couple years now and I can yell directions or answer questions from another room instead of hovering over his shoulder now.. that is so awesome!!! He did have cooking in school, which is what started this for us. He had to cook and we got to review one meal a week. My daughter who is now 23, refused to learn to cook in junior high/high school! she swore she was going to marry a chef LOL!! Now she dating a guy in pre-med and considering cooking classes lmao!!

Tonight its the old mans turn to cook, he is making burgers, fries, and broccoli hehe

Hey all- Well, Me to... I love Chicken N Dumplins! My most asked for meal on my birthday as a kid ... AND now- LOL
My husband can cook so I am lucky but my daughter is making excuses- saying, "it's a fact, most girls marry guys like their dad's, so I will marry a guy that can cook so I won't have to" LMAO- She thinks this will work!

Alfredo is one of my hub's favorites... I will have to do this one next week I guess-
Tonight we did a pork shoulder roast- mainly so I can have leftovers Saturday night. My 10 yr old will be 11 Sunday and on Saturday he is having a couple friends spend the night and on Sunday he will have about 10 boys over for an actual Birthday party. I am worn slap out trying to get things together!
My big boys are at Homecoming tonight- we have been going through Spirit week all week long- LOL It is still funny even if it isn't us!
My daughter keeps begging to go stay over at a friends house that we don't know- So... short answer- No!
Until I meet parents and such, we just don't allow it. So, she is trying to get teh girl to come over w/ her mom tomorrow... Or... can I take her over there and visist with the mom... NOT- I got about 12 boys that will be here Sunday and that don't include my own... & Saturday will have 2 extras in the house.. not a real big deal but I gotta get party stuff together w/o kids checking it all out... Whew!
U guys take care! Oh! Rocket, Sounds like a dinner I can wrap my "fork" around... That and a nice, icey Hornsby! Sounds good now as a matter of fact!

KCF chicken sandwiches..the freeon leaked out AGAIN! The guy thinks the problem is in a pipe under the hose. I don't care! Just fix it already!
It's hotter in the house then out..and it's in the 90's outside.
You guys up north have 3 dog nights..down here it's 2 fan nights!

Haha! Love these answers! (Especially Rockets!). I tend to multi task when doing certain things, like grilling. I smoke our food so I like to use the grill all out! So, last time we decided we wanted chili cheese dogs and had our neighbours over. I also seasoned 2 chicken breasts, one with garlic, black pepper and kosher salt, the other (insert shhh here) with a touch of soy, olive oil, kosher salt, garlic, cayenne and onion. That last one was for dinner. With carmelized onions and Santa Fe peppers and flour tortillas, shredded cheddar and sour creme.

My son's name is Cody too and he can cook too while I'm in the living room giving directions thru the open bar. He once cooked a whole dinner for 6, cube steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and even made biscuits. My daughter Emily cooks great too although she had to call me the other day and ask how to make gravy. (MK You were right, she will always need me,lol) My oldest son, Jesse, can't boil water, lol I'm working on him though.

I cooked Sonic tonight. We have so much going on with a birthday and a funeral in the next couple of days. There is only just so much I can stand up and do and I've hit my limit. They are lucky I treated them to Sonic, lol I could of just told them to eat Hot Pockets, lol

We had shredded beef enchilada casserole.. yummy! I love to buy a couple of chuck roasts on sale, and cook up 2 in the crockpot. We eat one, and I shred the other roast and divide it up to freeze for making quick beef enchilada casserole later.

We had left overs.....I missed chiming in about the main meal on Thursday...

My sister got a phone call from friends of hers from home (England) and they were only 150 miles from here vacationing too. So, we invited them to dinner.

They got the star treatment. Sharky made baked salmon with bernaise sauce and sauted cherry tomatoes, asparagus wrapped with prosciutto, baked creamer potatoes and rugala (raspberry/ walnut and chocolate/cream cheese) for dessert.

We had the left over salmon today. Last night, since Sharky was home, we hit the casino up for snow crab legs on the buffet! I don't eat out much, but can't beat crab legs on a buffet!

Tomorrow? I'm doing beef ribs. And whatever else I find in the fridge that needs eaten!
