Just spent an hour and half on the phone with a friend, who now lives in Oregon. She goes in this week for ovarian cancer surgery. I'm putting my bet on her spirit helping her through this and to a clean bill of health. We laughed for most of the hour and half...she's always made my face cheeks hurt from laughing. She's one of those souls who has more than her fair share of challenges...I so admire her...she is such a survivor. I don't think I could have gone through all she has, and still have such an upbeat, positive outlook. So, please say a few prayers for my friend, Karen. |

Will do Linda! It takes a special person to manage a life with those kinds of challenges..we have them by the dozen on here! Then they take the time to help out others..I can only marvel. Please give her a hug..By phone or otherwise from me. |

Thank you MK...I will. I felt uneasy all afternoon, even though she is very positive. Her hospital participates in some kind of online "keep up to date" site so her family can keep everyone informed...I think that is pretty cool. |

Yeah...the surgeon doesn't believe there is any tissue left that is cancerous...but they'll still have to wait for the labs. Her surgery was shorter than expected and people are visiting her one at a time. Thanks MK...one can never enough prayers and well wishes at times like this. I have to say that the online Care Page is a fantastic idea. Her son had his laptop with him so he posted throughout the day. |

I hope her recovery goes well! That up date thing is a great idea! Too many vistiors wear out a patient, but this way everyone can stay up to date without trooping and out! Long distance people will appreciate it even more! I wish we had had that when mom was so ill!

Yeah, CarePages is fabulous...I recommend it to everyone as I don't think it's restricted to any particular hospital. I guess one of Karen's first questions to her son as she was coming out of the anesthesia was if he'd posted on it, lol. I expect her to be on it, posting for herself, probably today. She's a very social person...very verbal. I really should post a new thread on how her situation evolved...you just can't trust the medical community blindly. |

LOL...no, no of us know anyone else like that. Karen did manage to post on CarePages yesterday via her phone...I knew it wouldn't take her long. |
