Analog countdown

I have been tracking how many analogs I've had on a calendar in my kitchen. Thought it might be good to log it here so I don't rely on my poor memory ! I had been smoking an average of 50 analogs a day before.

07/28 - 15
07/29 - 14
07/30 - 12
07/31 - 18 (both batteries needed recharging at same time and no passthrough :( )
08/01 - 15
08/02 - 11

Total: 85
Average: 14/day
Analogs NOT smoked: 215
$ savings on analogs: $88.15
New attys and e-liquid: $62.21
Net: $25.94

Keep going Sis, I kept slipping from March till April 3rd and finally made it but I still find myself placing my vape in the ashtray and also looking for my lighter on occasion when I pick up the System :)

haha I've done both of those! Congrats to you!

What nic are you vaping at? 50 cigs a day, or 2-1/2 PAD is a lot. I was a 3 PAD American Spirit Black smoker for 35 years. I vaped at 36 mg for first two weeks, then dropped to 24. Recently dropped to 18 (wife dropped to 12). I DIY (make my own juice), so now I have all this 12 mg around and I like it. So, I'm between 12 and 18 now, and just fine with it. Wouldn't have worked with less earlier. Real quick: tried vaping in 2009. Cigalikes in a dripping atty, couldn't get there, weak juice. Again in 2011, ego 650's, cartridge dripping into an atty. 18 mg juice. Still couldn't make it. Enter 2013, strong juice, strong batteries Z (1300 mAh), clearomizers. I made it. For heavy smokers, you need strong juice, batts and a great delivery device, like the Davide Glassomizer. Good luck, and thank you for the "likes," and the blog. Appreciated! But want to help in any way I can to help you get off the smokes. Please feel free to get with me on anything. Best to you!

Thanks Bill! I smoked b&h menthol deluxe ultra light - so around 40 mg/day of nicotine. But half of them burned. Lit a lot that sat in ashtray while on phone or working on computer. Pretty comparable I suspect to a pack a day Marlboro user as far as nic consumption. Maybe even less.

I have nic at 11, 18 and 24 mg. I have a bunch on order at 12 and 1 tobacco one at 24. I honestly have trouble doing the 24 more more than 1/3 of the time. Using 100% vg. The one 18 I have is 70/30 and just 5 minutes and my throat bothers me. I have an Ego with disposable clearomizers.

My BIG issues right now are when I get up and late at night. Ams I was used to 3 cigarettes with first cup of coffee. That's getting better. It's less the nic issue than the habit.

I hope I'll be off analogs within no more than 2 more weeks. I am dealing with detox stuff more than craving issues. I'm trying NOT to put pressure on myself while I replace habits so that I improve chances of succeeding.

Gotcha. Why 100% VG? That's unusual. Usually 50 - 60% PG for most. Many vapers going a bit heavier on the nic in the morning, reduce during the day, then reduce even more at night. So, in that scenario, maybe 24 mg in the morning, 18 during the day and 12 at night.

If the nic is bothering you, or it could be the VG, which at 100% makes it hard to get the nick (it coats the linings on the tongue, mouth and nasal passages), making absorption difficult. But I understand that you're gradually reducing your analogs in anticipation of going on vaping in a short while. That's a perfectly acceptable way to do it. And, if you're not having cravings, then that's all good. I care, and just want to be helpful. All the very best to you!

On VG only - reasonable q. Ironically, I have a lot of issues with allergies, chemical sensitivities and asthma. I knew before getting my kit and first liquids that some people have issues with either PG or VG. So I thought it best to go all the way with one and VG made the most sense. It turned out to be a good idea - the 18mg I got that is a 70/30 mix bugs my throat as I mentioned. It may be that specific liquid or it could be PG being in there. But with VG, no issues so far.

Yup - I am trying the heavier nic in the am, alternating in the afternoon and lighter at night. Have had some issues with not being able to fall asleep the first few days so reducing the mg then seemed to work.

The nic bothering me at higher % is the same physical feeling as smoking several analogs back to back - usually in a situation like a layover at an airport. ie heart racing feeling, etc - just too much nicotine.

Thanks so much! Appreciate it!
