Capillary Action

Capillary action and Flow are two different things.

To test capillary action set the wick straight up in some juice and see how high the juice climbs on the wick within a given period of time.

Here is a demonstration I did of the capillary action of AO wicks.
(I need to do a vid of SS wicks in the same style, I wonder if the green would show)

Flow is very dependent upon the tilt. A SS wick with a 20-30 degree tilt ( a very natural tillt when hitting a Mod) might "flow" great, but if the juice doesnt climb up the wick while vertical then it isnt capillary action at play.

To prove it out, take a half full tank with a SS cable and set it vertical on the desk and fire it about 10 times. Without tilting the Mod at all do you get dry hits?

The general consensus is that SS cable "flows" great, but has virtually no capillary activity at all. The natural tilt creates enough flow to vape though.

I have run SS cable, and it does work well if built right, but it is dependent upon having the right tilt.
