Kayfun Lite bases and chimneys

Bases:
We'll start with talking about the kayfun Lite base (Lite+ and/or Russian 91% fall in this category).

You will find that the kayfun Lite bases on FT may have the airflow control on the bottom, on the side or none at all. I prefer the side AFC but the bottom is fine also and I have many of each:

No AFC:

You will also notice the fill port in the bottom of the base has 2 styles, 1 is recessed with an o-ring and one is more flat on the base. I prefer the recessed and this was an improvement in the authentic to help with leaking from the fill port:

These are just things to keep an eye out for as you purchase your bases as well as the ratings.

Here are my favorite go to bases that are in stock at the time of this post on fasttech:
$3.51 Replacement Base for Kayfun Lite Plus - stainless steel / black plated at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
$4.64 Replacement Base for Kayfun Lite Five Pawns - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
$4.54 Replacement Base for Kayfun Lite Five Pawns - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Chimneys:
There are basically 3 chimneys for the KF Lite. Full size, nano and barrel only. Each of these are used in various configurations as you will see in my Kayfun Lite Configurations blog entry:

Here are chimneys available at FT at the time of this post:
$2.26 Replacement Five Pawns Styled Chimney for Kayfun RTA - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
$1.10 Replacement Chimney Cap for Kayfun Lite Five Pawns - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Pretty slim pickings on the chimneys and I suggest getting them while these are still available and stocking up :)

Great info! I'm looking forward to reading more, and I shall study this in time.

T Tex, you're an angel. Thank you. <wub>

Good blog, Toolman. Especially that China links. A while back I had to order a new base for one of my KF light plus V2's. There was a terrible whistle that I tried to fix by chasing out the air hole with a small drill bit. I jammed it and broke it off into the center post and couldn't get it back out. The drill bit was frozen by the center post! Luckily, Fasttech had them.
