My experience with Smoking, COPD and Vaping

:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

I am 47 years old with 3 grown kids who each have 2 kids of their own. The neat thing is they each have one boy and one girl, giving Gramma Taz 6 grandchildren, 3 boys and 3 girls. I have COPD and going through an episode right now and having a hard time breathing. Smoking analogs is killing me and I also have not slept in nearly two weeks. I work full-time and attend school full-time online. My grandson who is 8 months old has been in the Hospital since Sept due to some heart and lung problems and Thank God seems to be doing better than gramma. I have to quit smoking. I have tried Everything and to no avail. Although I dont seem to have too much of a problem getting off the nicotine I do have a problem clearing my lungs from all the other stuff in analogs and I have always enjoyed the vapor aspect of smoking. I bought the njoy only to find out that I cannot handle the PG base in the cartridges. After doing some research I have found there is another option, VG base. I also found out that my method was wrong and I have to figure out how to "vape". So, I have bought the Joye 510 with an assortment of different VG juices and we will go from there. I have talked with some amazing people here and on FB and look forward to talking with my new friends as well as gaining more friends. The people here Rock and I know that I will come up with a mix that I can work with. Thank you for stopping by and Happy vaping.

Hi Gramma! I have 5, my husband has 13, we have 18 grandkids, and 1 great. I just turned 63 Thursday, and have those bad breath days too. (No, can't get a breath!)
I have found it very helpful just to do a lot of in through the nose out through pursed lip deep breaths, pull in and push out as much as you can stand. I feel like I need to 're-set' my diaphragm, like I'm trying to breath just with my upper chest? Does that sound right to you as well.
Anyway, I haven't sought med help as I don't have the proper insurance and initial visits are so expensive. But I do use a Primatine tablet once in awhile. 12.5mg ephedrine. Sometimes a Musinex as well. But DO DRINK LOTS OF WATER!! Keep those tissues hydrated.
Also, you know you can still use your NJoy, and just refill the cartridges with your own juice> My first ecig was the NPro.
Then went to a larger cart size with Janty Stick and 801 atomizers and carts.
Ecigs saved my life, from day one I was on my way! No more cigs. Now have lowered my nicotine from starting at 24mg/ml down to 12mg/ml, and have cut back on amount of juice used from 30ml every two weeks down to 10ml a week. I t just happened, and cutting nicotine was totally painless, without withdrawal. Not kidding. I am about 9 days away from my 1 year anniversary.
Best of luck to you!

Thank you. I threw my Npro in the trash and treated myself to new PV and just hoping and praying it works for me. I really enjoy looking to see if I got any replies to my posts and thank you for the encouraging words.

You are welcome. I am delighted to share whatever I can, this Forum saved me and I love it. I didn't find it until about three weeks after my ecig adventures, believe me I did EVERYTHING wrong! But I still managed to quit, I was that desperate.
Hubby not too keen on 'that thing' I keep nearby at all times. He stopped smoking when I did, but still chews.
And because your Kitty looks like my Kitty (Jake)!! He's a big wooly-bear looking guy, a rescue case, and loves everybody.

All my animals are rescues. I would not do it any other way. I have been rescueing critters for years and a few kids too, which has proven to be a good thing when they come up to me years later to say thank you. I hear people saying that they are having some breathing problems. I know I cannot take the PG base juices because of my COPD so I guess I will have to figure out what works for me. I know I do have to drink lots of water and fluids and I always keep cough drops near by Ricolas seem to help me best so I will go from there. I know I have to quit smoking cigs and there is not getting around that. Thank you for all your feedback and I hope everyone keeps it coming.

It's been a long time since anyone posted here. Wondering how vaping worked for you? I also have COPD and couldn't quit analogs despite being on oxygen! Until vaping. Almost 3 months now for me. Piece of cake too!
