Newbie Vapes - The Beginning

First and foremost, a huge shout-out to Disconnect for giving me the nudge back in February, letting me try out his kits, and pointing me in the right direction to get started. My lungs thank you, my wallet curses your name for evermore.

What an awesome week it's been! From my first visit to one of Bmore's local B&M shops - hey VapeDojo! - to upgrading and experimenting and kicking the analogs - it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. It started last Thursday, March 21st.

Rachel at VapeDojo was awesome, and really patient with a pair of newbs strolling into her store. She answered our questions, let us try out a bunch of different juice flavors, and was the complete opposite of a pushy sales person. Actually, my only quibble is that she probably could. have suggested a few extra purchases while we were there: I knew to buy an extra battery from my preliminary research, but I wish she'd nudged me into buying a few spare clearos!

Their little Katana kit is awesome to start with. One eGo 650mAh battery, one C4 clearo, and a charger at the really sweet price of $13. I just went back to the website to order a couple as gifts and they're sold out! Not surprising, it's basic and quality stuff at an awesome price. Great to start out with, but only to start... but that's another post.

With the help of that little kit, and a couple of their 12mg juices, it only took me four days to wean off the cigarettes.

Monday was my first day smoke-free, and you know what? I don't miss it. I get everything I need from my PV: the hand-to-mouth habit, the inhale-exhale, and obviously the nicotine. Sure, the first few days were rough, but that's because I thought that it would be easy to drop from smoking full-flavor cigarettes to a 12mg juice. Not the best idea, and I'm experimenting with 18mg now, and will probably have some of each on hand for different occasions/times of day.

So seven days vaping, five days without a cigarette, and totally hooked on vaping now. I was a little worried that it would just be a fad I went through, that 20+ years of smoking stinkies would be hard to break. Not a chance - I've already started down the path of the addict, and already upgraded!
