Nice place and lovely country, Anna (if I may be so bold). Love the paloverde trees too. I wish I lived out west, even west Texas would be far enough west for me. I live near Austin where the climate is generally horrible. Oh well...
So, what are your geoglyphs anyway, what do they represent? Interesting--mini Nazca :)

Neat but looks like a bit of work! We have something similar in Nashville. Thanks for sharing:thumbs:

Very nice, eclectic bit of "desert landscaping." As yo vapo said, it is somewhat reminiscent of the Nazca lines but, somehow, evokes Stonehenge, too. Is there a "purpose" behind it beyond your and "hubbies" just "wanting-to." Regardless, I admire and approve your creativity and perseverance, I imagine that took "a while" to create. Tuscon's a beautiful place, I had an uncle that lived there and I've been to/thru it more than a few times over the years, MUCH nicer than Phoenix!!

@SomethingElse , A labyrinth is a powerful symbol of spiritual journey that was introduced into medieval prayer practice when traditional pilgrimages to the holy land became too dangerous for most travelers. Both in that time, and in our time, people have found them helpful for meditation. There’s one way in, one way out and no dead ends. It’s suggested to clear your heart and mind and become aware of your breath before entering. Then walk it with an open heart and mind as you listen to your body. As the path winds throughout, it becomes a mirror for where we are in our lives. It touches our sorrows and releases our joys. There are three stages of the walk I’m familiar with... purgation, illumination and union. It can be a spiritual, soul freeing, empowering journey.
I wasn’t sure if you were asking if she had a personal reason for building hers or if you weren’t familiar with them in general. Just thought I’d share what I know as I think they’re quite intriguing:)

Thank you, Natasha, it was mostly the "personal" part when I posed it but reading your elucidation I guess it was both. Again, thank you very kindly. I've never really been a "spiritual" person but have often wondered about certain events and connections. Note, I read the KJ version of The Bible, cover to cover, when I was in HS and hadn't ever been to any church, other than for weddings of relatives, and I probably shouldn't say any more on that topic here. However, I "must" ask, are you and Anna friends? Do you "know" that your description is the "full story?" I'm sorry, I'm probably sounding rude but I am genuinely curious. (My "intellectual" passions are mathematics and physics.) Again, thank you very much for the explanation of a labyrith and my apology for my crudeness. I'll agree that that all sounds "intriguing" and I'll try to do some research along that topic. :thumb:

@SomethingElse ,
I don’t take you for being crude, rude or anything of the sort. I don’t know Anna personally, but only here on ECF. She seems like a great person though. A few months back, I came across her labyrinth pics and commented. Thus notifying me when you commented. I found Nashville’s labyrinth a couple years ago. I found it quite interesting! Of course, I had to walk it. I think meditation can be good for anyone. I followed the directions and thought on this or that sort of memories it advised. Then I envisioned my future as I’d like to see it play out, logically. I allowed myself to fully take in the experience and it was nice. Afterwards, it was like a fresh breath of air. I felt calm, relaxed and my mind wasn’t racing with thoughts to do this or run that errand. I’m a firm believer that in all we do, we get out what we put in! The labyrinth could possibly have different meaning for everyone. It’s a personal journey. Idk what it is for Anna. I feel there’s a difference in religion & spirituality. I’m aware it’s a touchy subject. If I offended by jumping in with my two cents, I apologise as that was not my intention. I only find these fascinating and theres probably much more I could learn concerning.
