I started vaping July 23, 2009. In that time, I have continutally made purchases and kept up with what is going on with vaping.
I joined here in August of 2009, but don't post too much here, but then again.. I don't really post much... anywhere.
I am more of the "Loner" type and only "Chime In" when something really affects me.
Since my writing is "G" type, that anyone can read, I don't see any reason that the Moderators here at ECF should have a problem with me "Blogging."
I don't think I will do a retrospective of the items I have purchased since the beginning and to be clear, I paid for each and every item. It seems that when you only write and only write to "Certain" people, the vaping Vendors don't send you any free stuff.
Paying my own way in vaping has caused 2 things to happen:
1. I have a collection that is hard to match. I have a lot of items that were purchased when they just were invented.... some good some bad.
2. For most people, vaping saves money over smoking cigarettes... but not me. I have spent way more than I ever had smoking. I smoked for 30 years and my last 5 years or so, I was purchasing tobacco in tins and "Rolling my own." Thus, smoking cigs cost me maybe $1 per pack, while at the time toward the end, purchasing a box of "Marlboros" cost about $7 per pack.
This gives me the "Chops" to be able to do reviews on items that still exist... ala... Mr. Oneil's original "ReoGrand," before he was the "King" of ECF threads. I now have gotten involved with the "Monkey Boxx" also here from Tom Buss and have spoken recently to Tom who is a great guy. I say that because he helped me understand the formulas of electricity. I sent back the MB that I recently got from him because it stopped going up at 5.4 volts. He wrote me back once he received it back and told me "don't take this the wrong way, but there is nothing wrong with this box. Call me and I will take you through it" ... and ... he did. He helped me understand something that even a "Darwin" could not fully explain... voltage is part of an equation that "Maxes out" depending on your device's resistance.
Hey, I am so behind that I don't even know how to start a ... "Thread." I have the "Permission" to, just don't know how... but, boy, I know how to respond to a thread.. just hit the "Reply" button.
Since I was one of the original REO purchasers from the 1st batch, before the "REO" was engraved on the door and before there was any hole in the door (mine had a hole with a screw that pushed the juice bottle). I sent back my door a couple of months ago as Mr. Oneil was kind enough to say he would drill me a hole, but.. I did not get a tracking # from the post office and it is possible he never got it.. He said that he would check with his people working with him to see if they ever got it... and if they did not, I guess I will be purchasing a new door. What I have been using with my ReoGrand since I can remember is... my finger with the door off. It does work beautifully, just... the bats. come out... maybe for the newer ones he has done what TomWooderBuss uses which are;; magnets behind the bats to keep them in place.
So, that is a little about my history and I would like to end with the happiest day of vaping for me: when the FDA gave in to Judge Leon's ruling that E-cigs should be a "Tobacco Product" and regulated as such.. instead of a "Drug delivery device" which could easily have been pulled from the market totally for 7 years while they "Tested it."
We all know of the 1 time the FDA tested a couple of samples from "Smoking Everywhere" and found... 1% of something that is in "Antifreeze." Let's face it, if every bottle of juice had just that... it still is 100% better than putting "Combustable" items into your lungs.
So, from time to time, I will come back here and give some of my "DAVEG" special secrets of someone vaping for 2 years... or almost 2 years in about 14 days. Again, I started vaping on July 23, 2009. The reason I remember the day is that... it is my Mom's Birthday. Thanks for reading.
