Lately, I've had the good fortune to win two contests in the Beyond Vape contest thread, here on ECF. The prizes for each were my choice of three 10ml bottles of their house brand juice, which is 50/50 pg/vg and which I ordered in 12mg strength. I've posted reviews for each of the flavors I ordered as I've tried them, within the contest thread, but I wanted to do a blog regarding their juice taken as a whole, since I've now been able to try six of their premium flavors.
Overall, I'd say this company makes some extremely fine juice. Not a lot of throat hit because of the 50/50 ratio - I usually order my juice at 65/35, because I like a good TH and lots of flavor. The ratio of this juice, to my mind, makes it ideal for dripping in an RDA. Most of the flavors I've tried from them (all but one, actually) were very dark in color, and all were extremely thick. I put the Apple Pie in my Kayfun and when I went to clean it after one tank-full, the coils were black, and coated with a thick layer of gunk. This is not a juice for your Protanks or clearomizers. I put some of the lightest colored juice I've had from them (Pina Colada) into a Boge cartomizer and it just sat there at the top in a puddle. It wouldn't go into the wicking material at all, even with some prodding from a syringe.
At first, I was a teensy bit disappointed at the lack of TH, but I got over it. I've been dripping all these juices into an EHPro Nimbus clone (with stock airflow holes) from Madvapes, usually on dual microcoils with sterile cotton wicks at about .7 or .8 ohms. The reason I got over the lack of TH was simple - because Beyond Vape makes some of the most flavorful juice I've ever vaped. Incredibly accurate to the name/description, and a real tasty pleasure.
My only complaints are these: The price, and the bottle size. You can only buy Beyond Vape's juice in 10ml bottles, and they cost $8 a piece. For a juice that's clearly best for dripping, the tiny sampler-size bottle seems odd. When you drip, especially on dual coils, your juice disappears at an alarming rate. I suppose you could drip on a single coil RDA to conserve, but still - $8 for 10ml's? That's expensive, guys. Maybe not the most expensive juice out there, but it's hard to justify spending that much when I can buy 236ml's of custom-flavored juice with a customized PG/VG ratio from MBV for around 40 bucks.
That said, there's a lot to like about Beyond Vape. Their juice is well-made and extremely tasty. My last prize selection came with a cool sticker of the BV logo, which looks great. Their website is professional and pretty, and they sell a nice variety of gear. I hear good things about the people behind the company from most of the well-known youtube vapers. Vanessa from Suck My Mod has been wearing her BV t-shirt in their videos ever since Vapercon West, and it's nice to hear that they're cool guys. I'll keep entering their juice/mod contests on ECF, and I'll always speak highly of them as a company, but at this point in my life I simply can't afford to be a customer of theirs, and that makes me sad.
