Build PICTORIAL
Microcoils Prepared and work layout:
28AWG Kanthal, 11 wraps on Toothpicks. Pre-Twisted the coils to each other for ease of mounting
coils Mounted on the Deck:
Tip: Keep the coil head upwards, with the tails at the lower plane while mounting. This helps in correctly positioning the coil over the Base Air-Channel.
Build Resistance Check:
Internal resistance of the DMM is 0.7Ω. Thus the Final Build Resistance works out to be 0.8Ω
coils Test Fired:
Wicks inserted:
Each wick is flush-cut at one end close to the coil. The other (longer) end is the one which would touch the Fluff. Thus, there'd be two tail-ends holding up in U-shape, but only one from each coil
Build Vapor Test:
Preparation of the Fluff:
Width = 20mm approx. Length = 55mm approx.
Fluff rolled into the Tank:
Filling the tank:
Tip: Not too much, not too less. The top of the fluff should NOT be juicy, that's more ~ and will over-wick leading into gurgling vape with poor vapor. The top of the fluff should just be moist.
And Ready to VAPE:
Thoughts on the Coil Setup:
My favourite type of build has long been Microcoil & Cotton. Every atty of mine is setup this way. Tho designed for a single coil, given the deck space I couldn't help building duals on my Prometey-II! And man, did I do good! The Prometey-II behaves stupendously well with this build. Obviously duals will chug-out the smog - but this build is producing nice Flavour and TH as well. Every draw is reminiscent of actually "drinking" our flavoured liquid. Ah, this one is TASTY! In a scale of 1-10, where 10 is the best, I'll rate the Prometey-II and this build as: Vapour - 8/10, TH - 8/10, Flavour - 9/10. A nice li'l smooth RBA it is!
BOTTOMLINE:
Besides a stunner in looks - the Prometey-II is also a smart firer! Obviously it has taken hints from other similar attys - but has gone further to better that system. For one, it is 22mm OD, as such has a way higher juice capacity. For two, it's Titanium, that's pretty cool (yes, it makes it the lightest in town too)! For three, the design incorporated maximum deck space, which makes our life much easier while working on it. For four, lifted base air channel ~ come what may this atty is not going to leak. For five, side air-hole ~ bring on the mods brothers - let it sit flush on whatever! Notwithstanding, the build, materials, machining, finish and detailing are par excellence!
---------------------------------------------------------
CAUTION: This being a sub-Ohm build it is for "advanced users" and definitely NOT RECOMMENDED for new vapers. It is also to be noted that all batteries cannot handle continuos excessive discharge. For sub-Ohming you must use a battery rated 10C or above, higher the better.
